I thought the umpiring in the yass game was fair, they both did a good job and didn't muck around with paying the fifties either. Will be interesting to see how tomorrow's games are umpired. Which ever team in the finals adjusts to the umpiring quicker may find themselves drinking out of the cup in a few weeks time. Good luck to all but I'm tipping a goulburn victory over coota in the gf

Well, what a disappointing level of umpiring shown today in the Yass v Goulburn game today. Yass absolutely smashed by the umpires.

However, Goulburn looked very comfortable around the ground lacking pressure from the Yass defence.Yass looked to busy worrying about the decisions being made than the opposition to stay in the fight. What happened with yass coach? Was over the the other side of the field to notice any other dramas then what was happening on it.

In the other game, Ainslie simply a class above the South Coast today. Luckily there's no tipping comp for this league. Back to the s*[! hole itself tomorrow, enjoy the rest of the weekends AFL.

Obviously I didn't see it that way, must have looked like that from the sideline.

So how accurate are the team lists that are on the sports pulse app for the games? Interesting to note that H.Hogan was on the list yet he didn't play??? Interesting to know why Goulburn has him on the list on there

Are you Ando by another name haha (I know you're not, Ando at least says who he is)? Personally Yass let it slip in the 1st quarter and spent the rest of the match chasing Goulburn. Regardless of the umpires, they got carved up at the half-forward line with Goulburn's Kyle way too good and having a good read of the play. Yass half-back Jimmy did a magnificent two pirouttes with the ball in heavy traffic had the crowd in delight.

Looking at Sporting Pulse, Yass actually outscored Goulburn in the remaining 3 quarters, so I expect them to bounce back next week against Sunday's winner.

So as far as I know Shaun Ebert warned me and said he would charge me with a code of conduct charge but I don't believe that I have been charged. If I have been charged I will be disappointed however I will deal with it. All I will say for now about todays game is I thought it would be about the teams that make the finals not father and son club umpires day.

I'm not sure if this is me or not with all the accusations of alias names :) very slow start to Yass but I don't think the 14 year old umpire and his dad can be blamed but afl Canberra surely in a game like this and finals footy with only two games played and about 150 umpires surely you could supply something better than what was put out there today ?

Haha Ando zinged me on my alias, looks we have something in common! Well done to the Belco Magpies for running the canteen. Hope you made a $ or two, today and no doubt tomorrow.

For what I remember, I did post saying how comfortable Goulburn looked yesterday. If you want something else on the game then here you go:

- Yass would have felt like they were playing 18 on 36 with the amount of defensive pressure and rebound play Goulburn had. Every time a Yass player played on a man, there was no chance he finished on that set man. I noticed at every stoppage, Goulburn would actually calling blokes out to get to their set player.

- Goulburn's run of the footy outclassed Yass from the first whistle. This come from two players (no.26 and no. 18) who were then joined by 'workers' not 'passengers'.

- Yass, however, had a chance to turn things around but as soon as the ball went into their 50 it would be coming straight back out, down the wings and ended up being a score for Goulburn.

Goulburn were good yesterday and if they display that next week, I believe Coota and Yass will be playing each other a week earlier then they expected (given Yass beat Ainslie/Cooma) winner.

Interesting that the umps are the talk again. Perhaps we should play games without them and run an honesty system. Sure that would work I turned up during the 2nd qtr of the Div 3 game and I might have been watching another game but I thought the umpiring wasn't too bad. A few soft frees and some 50's but that happens. Not an easy job. Personally think its great to give a young guy ago. How do we expect him to get better? Same as players getting finals experience IMO.
Think goulburn must of improved since last outing but there coming from a long way back last game. Coota for me.

Also Ainslie looked like there back to form. May of dashed a few coota/south coast multis.

Looking forward to todays games. Cooma have a few sick boys apparently but still think they'll be too good & face Yass next week. Eastlake to carry on their good form and get over Woden

Great win by Cooma today, punishing Ainslie with relentless pressure and tackling, next weeks game against Yass should be a belter. Who won the Woden v Eastlake game?

Woden by about 4 goals I think. It was only 4 points at half time. Woden dominant for the rest of the game being a bit more accurate in their attack where Eastlake seemed to bomb it in the forward line which made it to a 50/50 contest.

Fair comments Droppunt .Yass didn't loose because of umpiring we lost because we were not good enough .I have no problem with club umpires controlling finals however if its good for one its good for all. And your rite to about blooding kids good on the league for doing so but again please keep it up .Last year we seen the same umpires progress through the finals ,so I assume we will see sudsy and his son along with the young boundry brigade from the south coast control the Cootamundra Goulburn game, otherwise it's a mute point . Good luck to all still in the finals race .We have a tough day ahead of us Sunday against Cooma thought they were outstanding yesterday.

Enjoyable game of finals footy against Cooma yesterday, high pressure and tough. Well done to the Cooma lads who were just too good on the day, some experienced heads amongst that group. Shaping up to be a very tight contest against Yass next week, pretty physical I would imagine.
Still proud of the Ainslie lads, the effort and work rate was there, just missing a little bit of polish when needed, will only grow from the experience.
Happy to say the umpiring wasn't a factor in the result, the better team on the day won.

How funny was the beer nazi yesterday .He must have spotted blokes plant a box behind a tree in what should have been the car park,Away he went returning with the box under his arm grinning like a kid in a candy store. You would think he had the lotto numbers he was that happy. As for the culprits all they could do was watch from behind the goals at the other end wondering what could have been.Better luck next week boys he cant be everywhere ;)

Dude, AFL Canberra is serious business. If you just want to drink some cans with mates in the sun while watching a bit of footy then go and catch a local game. Security guards are also a total necessary part of the game and I applaud AFLC for putting them at the elimination final. The results speak for themselves, nobody was killed and there were no all-in brawls in the crowd. This is clearly because we had security presence there and there could be no other reason for such a 100% safety rate. Bravo AFLC

Its good that the security is there but not sure why your blowing up at htb. There will be as many problems with canteen sold tinnies v tinnies brought in.

I heard they brought in security for the elimination final because of what happened with a certain coach and official wannaby footballer after the qualifying final . I thank the afl Canberra for protecting us all and keeping us safe.

Be weary of what you post on here after the recent letter gate from Goulburn to the league resulting in a club umpire being suspended. Both myself and that suspended person were rang and told that posting on here and using social media to tell his story was a chargeable offence. So please don't place reference to what might have or might not have happened on the weekend with me and him .We know there reading this :(

Once a few of the Cooma boys get over the man flu that has struck them what chance are we giving them against the roos? I see they (yass) lost another one of their better players against Goulburn.

Can't see Goulburn beating Coota this weekend.

Molonglo and Woden to get the win this weekend also.
