After one season? Try doing it for a decade bucko. Amazing how loyalty is transferrable though.

Living in the past mate belco are no longer the benchmark of the comp (no doubt they were for the decade they were on top). Pretty sure there were 8 or 9 local juniors in last years premiership just under half.

Can you name them?? I can only think of 2!!

Just wondering what people think about the NEAFL crossover games. Will ACT or QLD teams in general be stronger? Or about the same? Shall be interesting.

Its obviously a dig at AFC for the money they splash at other clubs juniors or young players in general.....Only because they can.

Its been going on for decades so I cant understand why people worry about it anymore.

They have it and they flaunt.

WCL, Belconnen may not be the benchmark but can you tell me how many times the tricolours knocked of Belco last year?

A fantastic opportunity to play NAB Cup will be on offer for at least 2 of Canberra's best in the up coming Rep game between ACT and GWS on Feb 12th.

It has been proposed that an announcement directly after the game (hopefully by Kevin Sheedy) of at least 2 players from our 24 man squad who will play in a NAB Cup game for GWS.

What an awesome incentive for any young up and coming player and a great initiative organised by both camps.

Could open the door to ACT's next AFL player!

who is lookinng the goods at the U23 training?

Hear belco are getting a fair old flogging at training. anyone got any reports on this?

Ainslie spending up big again... verbal agreement with ex bulldog Tim Callan rumour has it...

Tuggers to sign a big forward from country victoria in the next few days, played in the goulburn valley footy league

Only had one session so far and that was on Thursday.

We will be having Tuesday and Friday sessions for the next fortnight before the game on Feb 12.

All I will say from training session #1 is that some players look super fit and some not as fit due to injury, lack of work over summer etc

Football Accomodation Sought For Season

Talented 17 year old Victorian Footballer seeks accomodation in Barton, Kingston, Manuka or surrounds whilst he plays football at Eastlake this season.

If you have any ideas or suggestions please call

David Graham on 0449 595691

Surely the dee,s have access to accomodation for a talented 17 year old.

They are organising it now, but being so young we want him with a family so that makes it a bit harder, I am just posting to see if I can find a nice family or couple that he can board with for the season.

So you would place an add for total strangers to find accommodation with a nice family who again would be total strangers.

Cant believe EFC didn't organise a nice bunch of strangers they know who could meet your needs from the very beginning. This 17 YO is obviously not from Canberra so when negotiations were taking place you would have thought it was covered in the talks.

Sounds all a bit strange to me.

ha ha ha you are wise ABH - google: "David Graham scam". 133,000 results. its a B&B scam?? who would have thought such a thing exsisted. and why would they use a common scam name - david graham?

Apologies to David Graham if he's legit - and all the best to David Graham Jr in the upcoming season. can anyone tell me how his form's been at training?

Thanks for the replys we have had contact from a possible familiy and we will be flying up to check it out, ABH we are of course being carefull in our placement hence flying up to check things out.

Thanks to the other people suggesting clubs and those clubs that have made contact, but we are very happy with Eastlake FC and the proffesional manner in which they operate.

Can anyone tell me anything about Matt Cavedon who played football up that way, how he played compered to the competition standard etc, he is coaching St.Albans in the Geelong Football League this season, also another Canberra recruit Ty Lehmann what the goss on him.

ainslie tri's extremely quiet this off season thus far, even my ever reliable source has gone quiet.....i have heard Shirley not training until late Feb and hasn't attended any trainings.

Demons youth policy continues signing three 18 year olds from Umina/Gosford areas...not too sure if that area produces good footy or not.

Any peeps hear how tuggers are travelling post kickett and rice?

Cavendon played with Queanbeyan Tigers and was a hard courageous type of player. Never shirked an issue and put his body on the line. If he is coaching he will certainly lead from the front. Lehmann played seniors with Ainslie, last I heard he was playing Amateurs in Melbourne, very handy around goal. I thought St Albans would be in the Footscray league?

No St.Albans play in the Geelong Football League, note there is a suburb in Melbourne called St.Albans who have a team but the St.Albans Super Saints in the Geelong Football League are named after a church but nowdays are no affiliated with that church like in the old days.
