A few of these boys will be around when we get into the draft. Particularly Gerreyn, Davis and Alger for us.

Like Algers build, different size player but Allen, Curnow and Caddy all have those disproportionately long arms.

Gerreyn a bit of Visitini/Marshall type prospet. Would like another developing tall on the list and he gives us a few cracks at it.

There has to be some chance that we lose all 3 rucks end of this year, and more chance we lose 2, certainty to lose 1

Its not like were doing anything in 2025, having 4 rucks or 3 knowing that it becomes at least 3 the next year isnt an issue

We dont want to be in a position where we lose 2 rucks and there isnt anything viable

Can only mean having to signifcantly up our offers to one of them, which is probably already happening without another ruck. We want to be in a position where were ok having Draper leave so we get a 1st rounder

We can get one in his prime age, as a stop gap, who played really good footy in 2022. He also adds super aggression which id love to see on the training track and in ruck battles

Both Bryan and Draper leaving makes little to no sense for them career wise.

If Draper leaves Bryan has the keys to the city.

Meanwhile, in 2025 you have plenty of rucks OOC (let alone the 2nd string rucks that you can usually get cheap in a trade when contracted anyway).

From a very brief look;

Keiran Strachan
Reilly O'Brien
Darcy Fort
Tom De Koning
Toby Conway
Brynn Teakle
Dante Visentini
Peter Ladhams

Are all OOC next year, would all (excepting TDK) come pretty cheap. Then there's heaps of mature bodies rolling around in the VFL that could fill a spot for a year.

Preuss simply makes no sense for a single year, let alone two. A horrendous pickup, in a position we don't at all need another body. Chances of both Draper and Bryan leaving next year are very low, as the moment one leaves the other knows they've got the first ruck spot all to themselves. Finding a warm body that's got better availability than Pruess is also not very hard, the best season he's ever played was 10 games. Everything about this suggestion is bad.

I like Gerreyn as a late pick tall forward/Ruck

I have us taking
kako

then maybe trading up for one of the following guys:
Shanahan KF
Berry SF
Olliver SD
Hannaford SF
even M Whitlock KD/KF

if we dont try and trade up then it all depends on who slides to 40ish from top 30 prosepcts and do they fill a need - Key forward /small forward / small defender/halfback

You should draft a player like Ough every year and just see what happens. A bit like Pat Voss. Big, versatile frame and can run.

Could conceivably end up a centreman or a flank/genuine kp option at either end like a Mihocek or Logue slightly smaller mobile type.

Having multiple backup rucks is not a priority for a re-building team. The ruck is one position, that can be filled by a single player. That list spot is better used for having another swing at the draft.
But Rosa has already said 4 is the number of draft picks

We have 7 list spots. 2 likely to be FAs and 1 leftover

Just bring Jake Kelly back and play him as a ruck his already a forward winger and defender whats one more string to the bow

eDPS im intrigued by the numbers produced by Jack Oughs. He’s a tall mid who looks like he will fill out significantly, has a neat kicking style, and seemed to have an upward trajectory in form as a midfielder. He will also fall around our pick 28 if we don’t trade it out. Do you think much of him?

Is ‘Ough’ pronounced like ‘Cough’? Because that’s a very unfortunate name.

SSP.
Also he did not say 100% it would be 4.

I don’t mind him, not the quickest but can play a range of roles and is fairly clean and composed with the ball. He sits in the 25-45 range for me

Hmmm, lack of pace might be an issue with the fast transition play of AFL level footy. But a 194cm player who shows an ability to consistently find the footy 30+ times could be a real find at the 30ish point of the draft. I’ll be interested to see how he goes wherever he lands.

More players taken between picks 11-20 have reached 300+ games than those at pick 2, and more have reached 260+ games than those between 6-10.
pretty disengenious since the 11-20 range has 10 people a year vs 5 in the range before and only 1 pick 2 and 5 times more likely then the 6-10 range

So your almost 10 times more likely to have a 300 gamer at pick 2 then at any given pick in the 11-20 range
