Monfries 2008 dreamteam king

Hearing Matthew Knights on 3AW speak about how he will use youth right from the beginning made me think of Angus. I think he will be a key component if Essendon are to turn things around.

Also spoke about the whole defence being altered to provide more rebound.

Re: AFL Dream Team: 2007

As i follow Carlton, i can recommend these players:

- Bentick:
A cooney type. He can score 120 but can also score 40. Would have a more consistent year next yr and if under 250k should be looked at

- Simpson Plays on the wing for us. Takes marks and when he has a high disposal game he can get a really high score. Might have a really good season next year. Might be a bit expensive but he is worth it.

- Carrazzo He is showing what he is capable of atm. Takes marks, gets alot of the ball and is capable of scoring over 80 everyweek.

- Waite Has had an interupted season to date and i would expect him to have a big pre-season under his belt next year. Should be a handy pick-up as it might be his breakthrough year.

- Fisher: Look at Waite
i guess he got carazzo wrong, he averaged way more then 80;)

Could I get people's thoughts on these players I'm strongly considering.

Graham Polak - He'll play CHB in a Chad Cornes like role IMO. Just reads the play so well and would be in the top 5 for contested marking in the AFL. This year he'll show why he was a top 4 pick in a superdraft.

Paul Bevan - Struggled with injuries last year, but is best 22 when fit. Good cheap back option, especially given there is minimal there to choose from.

Dean Soloman - Training the house down at Freo. Will be used as more of a HF this year as opposed to a BP. This should see his scores greatly increase and is a good option as he'll still be listed as a back.

Luke McPharlin - Scored much better when moved down back and will start there again this year. Very confident he'll score well.

Adam Cooney - He has so much potential and last year showed us what he could do last year in patches. Expect the consistency to come this year. The arrival of Aker will mean he gets less attention and will flourish.

Mark Bolton - Already said how good he could be as a DT'er in the other thread. He will score well IMO.

Only Polak and Cooney are decent DTers.

LMAO at Bolton.

Re: AFL Dream Team: 2007

Daniel Cross - Should get more time in the middle next year. Has a huge engine, will almost always pick up 25+ touches and normally lays 4-5 tackles a game.

Farren Ray - Like Cross, will get more game time next year. The ideal DT player for his price. Plenty of kicks, takes a few marks and has plenty of shots at goal.

Ryan Griffen - Will be released into the midfield. Get on it!

Brad Johnson - For obvious reasons.

Jordan McMahon - Not too sure about this one. Will be capable of 100+ scores, but could also have a dead set stinker. If the price is right I'll buy him.

Talk about overrating your own players.

2.5/5 (McMahon being the 0.5) isn't very good.

Two of them were certainties to score well, so it's probably more like 0.5/3!
