Mmm good advice.
However your earlier prediction of X Ellis playing came to fruition and hes looking good for a emergency down back.
Combine that with J Selwood as my emergency in the CTR and Aaron Edwards as an emergency in the FWD line.
Im just gonna bite the bullet and pick Ryder.
Thanks though.

It all really depends how likely your forwards/backs/centres are likely to play..
eg, If you're pretty certain all you're forwards will play, its worth using that emergency in your ruck division where it's actually needed..

1) Ellis still "might" not play. He is listed on a seven-man bench so we will have to wait until tomorrow night to know whether or not he will play.
2) Selwood will play and will probably score pretty good (once again), but there is no point making him emergency if none of your centres are in doubt.
3) Edwards will play and forwards are more prone to being late withdrawals than any other position so keep him as one of your emergencies.

The point i am making is that even though Selwood is a better cash-cow than Ryder, that does not mean that you should make him as emergency instead of Ryder.
It is all about securing all bases and reducing the risk of playing with a man down.

Gee.
Everynight i seem to be giving advice on this board.
It might be time to slow down a little. :p

Thanks man.
Im going with your suggestion of Hudson in and Ryder as an emergency.
Gna stick with Edwards.
And considering i have Lappin in my Centres. It would always be a good choice to pick Selwood as my 3rd emergency.

I may be at work all day.
But if i get a chance. Ill see whether X Ellis will play. If he does. I'll reassess my 3rd emergency between Selwood and him.

BACK: Chad Cornes, McPhee, Gilbee, Birchall, Adcock, Kozi, Jesse Smith
X Ellis, Riggio

CTR: Judd, Kerr, S Black, Priddis, Murphy, Lappin
Selwood, Hadley

Both look safe. So will keep to what i said above.

Thanks
Btw ur help has been good. Im just shocked you arent as highly ranked as ur advice does suggest

Sounds good mate.
If none of your players are in doubt and you have heard nothing about them having any injury concerns, which includes nearly all the players in your backs and centres, then it is basically just a flip of the coin.
But like you said, it is always a safe move listing an emergency in your centres when you have Lappin in your team. :p
That guy is so unpredictable.
He could tear his hamstring in the warm-up as far as all we know (touch wood).

Anyway, i have started off the year badly with a lot of injuries but i have kept faith in them and saved trades in the process so i am in a pretty good position at the moment and i should start peaking just after the half-way mark or maybe a bit later so i should come home strong.
I am so stuffed with my plans this week though.
Petterd getting injured has ruined me.
Hmm...

Re: Lappin
*touches wood one million times*

Re: Petterd
U had big wraps for him. Im just glad he isnt playing this game cos it made the dilemma i was in the last few nites an easy choice.
Brennan to Smith and then Gibbs to Lappin.
I had 7000 and needed an extra 5000 to trade gibbs for lappin. Hence me not waitin a week. Also brennan just did my head in lol

But maybe if Petterd returns later on. By that time, Hadley or Selwood peaks and it makes an easy choice to downgrade my cash cow.

Good luck to u.

Have a hard game this week in your league?
Ive got a tough one. Followed by another tough one.
So im just hoping for the best.
Thanks for all your advice though.

Relax on the Lappin point.
He will score another 100 again this week in a free-flowing game against Adelaide at home. :thumbsu:

Petterd will most likely enter my team once he comes back which should not be too far away.
I could still pick him up now and stick to my plan but i am trying to find a way to avoid it and i am finding it hard to do so.
Decisions?

I, also, have two tough opponents in the next two weeks and with 18 trades still up my sleeve, i should use 4 of them in the next two weeks.

People on here said Petterd just had soreness and would be back next week, but the Footy Show reported him as having done a hammy.

Any confirmation yet on how long he is out?

Yeh im just kiddin around about Lappin. Very pleased with my trade actually.
Just glad i didnt get rid of Murphy for Petterd in order to get cash. Im fine now with 112k in the cap with my team. (Except using Smith as the 7th man, gonna change that in the next few rounds tho)

Rite now atm besides Petterd, its hard to say who would play this week and is at $82,300 in CTR. A good enough player like him who has scored high that is.

Ill be glad if he comes back later on. But right now even tho i have Cox, my future competitors relied on him and dont have any emergency ruckmen that can score or play as much as Hudson or Ryder. One has Darcy who can be shutdown, thats this week. The other one is trading Griffen into his team.

In regards to ur plan. Hope it works out :thumbsu:

Yep.
Your trades this week were solid.

Whoever is coaching those teams with no emergency for Cox must be idiots. I mean, Griffen and Hudson were the first picked into my team as you knew they would both play.

Oakley-Nicholls is an 82k centre who has played two games and is starting on the field so...

Yeah im still not to sure what to do on Petterd as i don't really know how long he'll be out. Im lookign to offload Gibbs atm as he is likely to fall this week and next week and uless he can seriously lift his game.
Thinking about just doing the trade and leave PEttard sitting on the bench (as he woul dbe anyway) and waiting for him to return and increase.
Another optionsis to go with Oakley-Nicholls, but i don't really like the look of him, although he likely to play most of the season under Wallace's "plan" or whatever he wants to call it.
I just don't think he has the potential to raise as high as Petterd.
What would you say?

I am stumped on this one too.
I HATE the look of JON, but Wallace must love him seeing as though he stayed on the ground after making costly errors on the weekend and because he is listed on the ground for this week.

Whats better a 53+54+? instant cash

or

71+101+? wait 1-3 weeks but reap far greater cash.

I know which I would go.
If i don't keep Gibbs in i have no emergency as my other is Andrew Browne.
Although it may not be a big issue i still prefer an emergency
I'm pretty sure im just going to go ahead with the Petterd trade tomorrow.
Hopefully there will be some detail of his injury on injuryupdate

What if you could have both though? ;)

I would prefer Browne over JON
Browne should be back once he's over his hammy which is apparently most likely next week
He took Farmers position when he was suspended and still is suspended, i'm confident he'll back back next week or the week after

EDIT: Prefer to keep Browne than to trade for JON

Petterd listed as Hamstring soreness. If thats the case could be out for anywhere between 1 - 12 weeks if he played for Essendon. Seeing its Melb probably only 1 maybe 2. Hope its 1 don't like having 2 reserves that are not playing. Any news on Browne is he fit again????

Yeah there was another article about him on AFL.com saying he had hammy soreness too
and they did an interview with him about his first two games and living the AFL dream. So you'd think they would have asked him how serious is, although all they say is something like, after being ruled out of this weeks match with hamstring soreness with the Bulldogs he has time to reflect on his first two games.
Doesn't seem to serious IMO
