Do you think Daniel Bradshaw would serve as a good cash cow?
I already have Brown in my foward line but do you think it would be risky having both Brown and Bradshaw playing in the same team as they should both play foward this year?

I watched Nicoski in the game against Essendon and he was playing a very tight tagging role on Davey. He didn't look sharp and can't see him accumulating too many dreamteam points. I also saw him struggling with his shoulder at one point. Waters could score pretty well. He's had a couple of good scoring games already this season although I haven't seen him in the middle.

Took this approach last year with the idea of minimizing risk and having the best possible team to win my league. I even had a quality player in each position as an emergency to ensure no trade would be wasted.

How did you go with that? It pay off? Im thinking of doing the same as well for this year.

Alright I suppose.

Dominated my league but finished just outside the top 2000.

I think if I was to do it again I'd probably advocate having two quality rookies as each emergency as opposed to a $200,000 odd emergency and starting trading a bit earlier as trading for a from rounds 12 ownwards really don't make you that many extra points.

Went with quality rookies as my emergencies (well at least I hope I have:eek:). Have read all the talk on here about not picking this player and not picking that player but half the time I think it is just posters trying to put other posters of players that they think are bargains and want less people cashing in on them. Unless there is clear unmitigated fact to back the logic behind these thoughts i.e. the player has sustained an injury, then I am not letting them sway my opinion, will just wait until the teams come out next week and see where I stand, only downfall with that is I'm a shift worker with no internet access after about 4pm so I have really to make sure the players I have will be there from round 1 and on.

Whether this has been the right way to go or not, late August will be the best way to tell. :)

Alright people . . .

Boak, N. Jones or J. McVeigh?

Also is McLean injured?
Tossed around going with either Jones or Boak, have decided to go with Jones, for the following reasons. With Johnstone gone and question marks over Bruce, Jones should get a lot more time in the middle and so far this pre season has averaged 85 (IIRC) from 3 games as well as being named amongst the best players in the Dees final hitout on Saturday. At @ $300k seems like a steal. Boak IMO still has a number of players ahead of him at Port like the Cornes/Burgoynes brothers, Salopek & Pearce.

Power do rate Boak very highly though. He might get more time in the centre this year.

Well if there pushing Nicoski further back, could be bringing waters further up the ground?

Im not going with either to be honest. Nicoski just looks really out of touch for me and waters, I dont think he can get those scores of 100+ he kind of hovers between the 60 - 80 mark and for his price gets to many 5-/60's

Agreed! Nicoski is a not going to be that great this yr in DT IMO and waters is not an elite DTer and wont improve too much. Doubt i will get either of them!

Here is something to think about for all of you obsessing over your teams

The team that was top of the rankings after round 1 last year failed to finish inside the top 4500.

Meanwhile the guy that won the comp overall was not even in the top 30 until after round 5, was outside the top 150 at round 4, ranked 1130 after round 3, 1522 after round 2 and was ranked 4928th after the first round.

Just goes to show that you don't necessarily have to have a great team to start the season so all this worry about who to pick may just end up being a huge waste of time.

You make a good point but in saying that, first round last season was not a high scoring round for the big DT scorers and the more popular players. For example players like J Brown only scored 26.

Leroy Jetta? Not to popular on this board. Should play most games this year and average 70 odd if he is as good as they say. $149k :thumbsu:

Leroy Jetta will be to inconsistent this year. What are peoples thoughts on Dyson and Houli? Will both play over 15 games this year?

Guys, is there a site other than fanfooty were you can plan your dt at all? For some reason ff keeps crashing on me....

I'm really pissed off that DreamTeam isn't open.

I mean, how long does it take to change the text from 2007 to read 2008?

I couple of different pictures here and there, upload the new player names (which they have already done for SuperCoach) and their prices.

Reckon we should boycott VirtualSports and get M0nty working on a Server Farm of his own. :thumbsu:
