AFL Evolution - 2018 season update

I keep getting an error code whenever I try to enter the game.

When it loads, it just hangs. I press "X" to enter, and it gives me an error message.

I have done everything, from installing and reinstalling the game, but nothing works.

Maybe I have to buy the full game now.

I got the season pass earlier, got errors, then uninstalled and reinstalled it. Worked fine before the updates finished but I haven’t been on since footy training so i dont know if the update works

You will need to reset your rosters for the new ones to be active.

I played a game with the Eagles and Sam Mitchell was still in the side.

Went in and reset the squads to default and the 2018 ones became the default.

Don't know about any other files you need to reset/delete though.

So lose all of your custom players?

Well as expected utterly underwhelming, I also really wanted them to fix their team & player editor by at least allowing you to edit numbers for all players and to be able to copy players to multiple teams, it’s not that bloody hard other studios like Big Ant can do it with their cricket titles player editor why can’t Wicked Witches ?

I saw this game on sale on Steam today and thought... it looks shit but it is footy.

It turns out that it is worse than that. Might be one of the worst games I have ever played. I don't know how you guys do it.

None of the standalone NEAFL teams have stadia added but the Canberra Demons play at Manuka and the Thunder play at TIO so they are accurate. The Qld teams play at their own local grounds and Uni alternate between Henson Park and Blacktown.

What stadiums does the NEAFL use? Did they add any of the NEAFL, SANFL or WAFL grounds?

The lists & team positions seem to be still out of whack & all over the place especially the AFLW ones most players have wrong positions and are in wrong positions and they haven’t fixed the women’s positional gameplay as they’ve kept the disappearing wings in the 16 a side games. Bloody disappointed such fixable things still weren’t sorted.

This worked for me,

- make sure you’ve downloaded the update from earlier in the week
- reset lists
- close application/game
- go to the actual online Store (not the in game link) search, buy & download
- remove disc
- put disc back in and start it up
- prepare for same gameplay & fixable team management & editing options not fixed

* I didn’t have any saved game data due to my PS4 shitting it self in December last year so if the above steps don’t work you may need to back up and delete those files

I have my data backed up on the PS Plus uploaded thing, would deleting the on drive data, then re downloading it from the cloud fix the issue of ‘Incompatibility’?

I reckon it would, again it’s very amateurish implementation if existing gameplay and lists need to be deleted and existing customers have to strip back the title to its store version for basically muddled team lists, 10 new real faces, state league teams, guernseys and ugly generic looking new draftees

That I'm not sure of. I didn't make any so it didn't affect me at all but can imagine for those who have worked on theirs quite extensively it would.

Hope you haven't reset it yet - maybe talk to Wicked Witches and see if there's a workaround.

The ovals all being the same shits me and no number changes is annoying.

Alright so I've done extensive slider testing and settled on the set I've been working on that is giving me realistic numbers as per real life AFL games.

However there seems to be one massive issue with the game that I can't seem to resolve.

Is home ground advantage built into this game?

I simmed two AI v AI games. Adelaide (overall 81, best ranked team in the game) vs Carlton (overall 76, worst ranked team in the game).

I played one game with Carlton the home side and one game Adelaide the home side. Lineups were identical and so were the tactics.

Look at how contrasting the overall outcome was.

First screenshot is Carlton's home game.

And the second is Adelaide's home game.

So what is going on here? I'd expect the best side in the comp to beat the worst 10/10 times. Crows lose by 36 points away from home then win by 108. Lol.

Is there a way to minimise the impact of home ground advantage or simply "turn it off"?

It's almost ruining the experience.

Had a bunch of different Heritage uniforms.

No number change is such a pain. You want Brett Deledio back at Richmond in the number 3? Goodbye Dion Prestia and 45 minutes of my life in and out of fan hub until it lands on number 3.

Also not being able to add retired players back into 2018 really hurts this game. You lose 15 or so legends who all looked good. Then gain 4 or 5 toxic avengers per team. How are you going to catch up to other sporting games when you're cutting your best character models each year and replacing them with this.

I must be the only lucky one. I didn't lose any saved data, i only had one custom character and he stayed, and my old 2017 career still worked too. I just started one with Norwood, and quickly copied in Michael Talia and Luke Surman. Enjoying it so far!
