I’ve been at Uni for a long time - never made it past third grade so I got myself on the committee to contribute off-field instead. Ha ha.

Yeah we have a number of ex AFL guys, those you mentioned as well as Tom Young (Collingwood and WB), Lewis Stevenson (Port, WCE), Jack Hiscox and Craig Bird (Swans), Will Sierakowski (NM) and Zac O’Brien (BL) so we have a decent spread of talent! Still always tough to beat the AFL clubs though unfortunately.

Trent Stubbs was originally from East Coast Eagles and went back there when he got delisted. Don’t think he had much interest in playing for us. I think EC dropped out of the NEAFL maybe three years ago?

Ahh that sucks. Would have been great to have them all in there! I played a few practice matches for Thunder when i was younger and they were just starting up, that's the closest i'll get to being linked to a club. And even that is cool haha You guys got quite a few players from AFL squads hey? Richards, Jack, Edwards to name a few

Did Trent Stubbs ever play for you guys, or was that a different Sydney Uni team? Im a distant rellie who followed his career until he ended up and bombed out of West Adelaide
 
If I download the 2018 Season Pack, does it wipe my 2017 content?

I am still in the middle of the 2017 season (hey, I can't play it every day, so fell behind) so I don't want to download it if it wipes out my current season.

It has been a while since we posted, but of course we have had our heads down busy with lots of things!
We have just learned that the new patch will go live within a few hours, so I thought I would share a list of what to expect:

General:

-Fixed crash in Most Popular players.
-Fixed VFL contracts to show correct players entering and leaving team.
-Fixed bug where players downloaded with a fanhub team would disappear when being delisted.
-Fixed bug where AFLW players were being generated in wing positions.
-Fixed bug with save file names in pro/listed career.
-Fixed bug where players were not being removed from injured or suspended lists.
-Fixed bug where sometimes users were stuck in FanHub screens.
-Fixed bug with incorrect player models being shown in the player select screen.
-Fixed issue with custom teams playing the same theme song. Theme song should now be linked to the team’s logo.
-Fixed bug where male players would show in the AFLW teams.
-Fixed bug that caused incorrect lists and logos to be displayed when returning to the player select screen.
-Fixed various player creator bugs that caused changes to be reset.
-Turned ambient crowd noise off while in the player driven replay.
-Improved camera focus in the player creator.

UI:
-Added Pause menu to quarter breakdowns.
-Various UI text changes.
-Fixed player indicators rendering during cut scenes in Pro Career.
-Fix for text wrapping issue when certain objectives were completed.
-Fixed legend element being disabled during team linking when it shouldn’t.
-Fixed play-on UI element not always displaying after user played on.
-Fixed the fixture image transition so that it will now fade up / down correctly.
-Fixed so that in multiplayer team select it will display the league name when on the league selection options.
-Fixed so that in the Uploaded Team screen it will display the teams league name at the top right of the screen.

FanHub:
-Changed the minimum players required to 22 for custom teams.
-Using teams with less than 40 players in careers will auto generate additional players to fill all 40 spots.
-Changed the flow of viewing fanhub teams and their line-ups.

Career:
-Added ability to start a rookie career with an existing custom player.
-Fixed last-played date in competition menu
-Added ability to change your name in Coach Career via the management options.
-Added option to Pro Careers to not have the pro player and direct opponents positions reset on stoppages (other than center bounce).
-Simulated game statistics will now be scaled to the current Careers quarter length.
-Players who receive a suspension during the season will now become ineligible to receive the Brownlow medal as intended.
-You can now select the SKILL tab in the season training menu and sort players by their overall rating.

Gameplay:
-Some speed improvements
-Improved Multiplayer invitations screens.
-Added gameplay slider descriptions.
-Added gameplay slider to influence No Prior Opportunity calls.
-Added option to have a continuous count up clock. Using this option will suppress the time warning at the end of the 4th quarter.
-AFL teams playing interstate will now cause less crowd hype than the home team when the ball is in their end of the field.
-Players will now turn their heads to face the correct directions during replays, not just during gameplay.
-Improvements to deliberate out of bounds rule.
-Made the AI more likely to be called for holding the ball.
-Randomised female draft picks will no longer be randomly made bald.
-Added a timeout when the ball is spilled and could trigger advantage so that if the ball is not picked up within the time limit then the penalty will be automatically awarded.
-Fix for players sometimes being snapped to face backwards when they attempted mark.
-Improved detection of hip and shoulder penalties during mark contests.
-Reduced the amount that the AI will pass the ball around their forward 50 when they should be taking a shot at goal.
-Fixed rare issue where instantly playing on from a mark near the boundary could cause the player to uncontrollably run out of bounds into the stadium wall before eventually causing a penalty.
-AI will be less likely to kick the ball out of bounds on the full when kicking along the boundary.
-Fixed a number of cases where commentators were playing lines that didn’t match what was happening in the game.
-Fixed a commentary line where it was using a male line in a female game. (Kicked to himself) when kicking to yourself after a behind.

have they fixed the collision detection with the goal umpire to stop players morphing through him at times, like has happened to me.

Is it meant to be this easy in career mode? Got it on the hardest setting and still winning every game by 20 goals on 3 min quarters and getting 30+ touches a game with my rookie
 
This game really needs a slider that controls how congested the field is.

Asking WW. I downloaded the game this morning, played a single game to test it out & I found a distinct lack of performance from the game. It's seems to be running quite slowly. Could just be me, but i had 3 or 4 set shots at goal that jumped & resulted in me kicking it out on the full.

Just wondering whether it's from the update or just from me?

Yes, you will need to delete your 2017 season data
 
Played a couple WAFL games at port Melbourne and I love the atmosphere at the vfl grounds

There’s no way I can change the wafl teams home grounds from Optus to the vfl grounds is there ?
 
Starting to think I may be an anomaly with this delete saved data thing, I didn’t have any saved gameplay/seasons due to a replacement PS4 5 months ago but still had made custom lists saved with created players and my own creations which I had to download off my players hub, in my 2018 pack download all of these players have just reverted to the delisted players list where in the edit player hub I have discovered you can actually edit their number if they are on this delisted list.
 
This could very well be my game of the year for two years in a row :D

Alternating between the pc and xbox versions. First game it took me some time to get into the groove again seriously thought the AI behind bug was back again as they missed a lot of shots at goal.... but so did I, Finished with 21 behinds :D.

Before the 2018 update I thought I would finish my current Hawthorn season. Long story short as I had dominated the previous seasons I set myself a huge task and thought I would create a story to add some drama. I had Sydney wallop me to get my percentage down really low (and thus I'd be fighting for my life for most of the season, especially after a few more losses). I was fighting to get back into the 8 to defend my premiership(s). Each time I'd scrape in, I'd get knocked down again soon after. But in the late half of the season, I strung a few games together and even though my goal was to squeeze into the 8 and thus hopefully win the premiership from that position.... I still finished second behind Sydney. I "avenged" the early season loss by thumping them in the return game. The aim was to square off against them again during the finals series (hoped for the grand final!).

I barely won the prelimary final..

Melbourne beat Sydney in their preliminary final, thus I wasn't going to get another showdown with the Swans.

My first grand final loss in AFL Evolution :( - after so many grand final appearances on both pc and the Xbox One :(. It was a tug of war throughout the game. I actually wanted to see what would happen if the game was still a tie at the end of the extra time period. More curious if a game breaking bug was going to happen OR if another 2 periods of extra time would occur, or if I'd have to start the game again in a rematch.

Melbourne got a sneaky run up forward and kicked a behind with seconds left. I managed to get it to my forward 50 as the siren went.

The only brightside was I finally got the achievement for losing a grand final :p

I had an amazing run in the second and third quarters. Buddy finally decided to turn up in the fourth quarter (went to sleep in the second and third after setting the game alight in the first!). Thought he was going to kick 5+ goals straight to get the margin down to something more respectable.

I still enjoy the game, I noticed a few changes... I can't remember if the toyota logo had been in the goal square in the past ? I went through all of the match videos I created previously and couldn't see it!

I would have thumped the Bulldogs by more if I kicked accurately - a combination of getting the controls wrong when kicking on the run............. but also spraying very easy set shots Travis Cloke style! (more to do with forgetting which way the wind is blowing and kicking with the wind instead of aiming against it!).

Alternating between the pc and console version presents its own set of challenges. One being the pc version has a superior smooth/fast frame rate. Meaning I have to change the button press timing for marks, and even being a bit more alert to when I'm about to be tackled to then either handball or kick it away.

I find World Class in Fifa a lot more infuriating than Legend on AFL Evolution. I know a lot of people hate the game, I still reckon that if they gave it a chance to learn the games nuances they would have enjoyed it a lot more. I'm at the stage where sometimes the AI can be challenging, but I can usually toy with it to force myself into more challenging situations. Otherwise I would thump the AI by 300+ points most games.

I win most marking contests, granted I'll lose a few (and as I've mentioned previously.... at times I'll only be able to regain possession by winning a marking contest from the back pocket/full back)

In the game I just finished against the Eagles, I emulated this goal



Which shocked and amazed me! A slight difference in that I kicked the ball from the kick in, the player marked it, started running and kicked the ball through the center square and it bounced through for a goal.

Hello everyone! This is my first thread and it's about ideas for AFL Evolution. Here are some that are in my head at the moment:

- Adding more stuff to the the VFL, WAFL, SANFL and NEAFL: Like jersey sponsors, local stadiums and banners for the team to run in.
- Create a Stadium, Logo and Jersey: Creating your own stadium and jersey and logo for a custom team.

Well, those are the ideas that have come to my mind so far! Please show or tell your ideas in this thread.
