I got the game today and pressed a button which seemed to change the camera angle. Can someone please tell me the default angle out of the box? I am playing career mode.

This game is so obviously rigged it's not funny. It's worse when you play against Hawthorn and playing on medium level is like your playing them on the hardest level. It's almost like the creator was a Hawthorn supporter and made them super difficult to play against.

- Playing it is almost as if they have two extra men on the field at all times. constantly out numbered at every contest and my players always leave their man so that the opposition can get an easy goal over the top.
- Every time I tackle they do some impossible handball behind them which ends up in the hands of a free player who comes out of no where.
- Free kicks are always their way, I tackle and it's either high or push in the back, I get tackled and it's holding the ball their way.
- At centre bounces they always bump two of my players down and get to the ball easy.
- constantly out marked at every contest regardless if i'min good marking position and my timing was right or not.

I just had to restart a game it was so blatantly rigged.

I have never lost to Hawthorn on any difficulty. Sounds like you need to take a look at your sliders, Tru Blu gave an excellent breakdown of each slider which somebody linked in this thread.

I haven’t played this game since halfway through the season. I still wonder if there is going to be a 2018 patch that is free to use unlike AFL LIVE 2 which had a $10 fee for 2014 players and kit etc. I haven’t visited this thread so since release so I have some catching up to do.

There's been no word from WW since patch 2b. My feeling is that there won't be a DLC but time will tell.

I honestly don't understand the hate for this game. Yes its 2017, but we are dealing with an amateur Australian company making a game they'd have been verrrrry lucky to even make 50,000 sales from. 80% of the budget probably went to actually getting the license to use the players, so they wouldn't have had much wiggle room. It's by far the best AFL game we've had so far. Sure it's riddled with bugs, but 90% of games these days are. The difference is they have a dev team that has the money and time to actually work on stamping those out, whereas W.W were given 2 patches by tru blu, and at the last minute gifted a third because they actually sold a few copies of the game. Cricket and Rugby are international sports and still get buggy and repetitive games, and FIFA is that riddled with bugs its crazy. The introduction of sliders, as well as the footyhub, make this game playable for at least 1-2 years. I love AFL, and of course i want a better game, but im satisfied with what we've got. The only other alternative is nobody buys the game, or everyone takes it back, and EA/2K take one look and say "nope, not going to take that risk for that little amount of sales". Aussie Dev's are never going to get anywhere if people just buy their games, take them back because they aren't the same quality as EA, and then slander them for the next 12-24 months.

The "budget had to go to licensing" excuse is old. That gets us no where if we want a good Football game. Big Ant's already stated The AFL need to hand over the licensing for free, if the game series is to succeed, so the budget can go into the development. Evolution is 1000 steps behind Live. It doesn't matter if they added in a few new features, the fundamental mechanics with how the game moves is poor in comparison to a 7 year old game. It's more like an improvement of IR Gurus PS2 series, which is still leagues behind Big Ant's first attempt.

If Don Bradman cricket has taught us anything it's that people will bitch no matter who makes it, and that WW did a good job on Evolution, no game breaking bugs, an amazing set of sliders, some of the best I've ever seen in fact. Big Ant aren't so perfect themselves but they've just put out Ashes Cricket which is solid, and which is getting panned left and right by ungrateful little shits currently.

I honestly don't know why WW or BA bother, the sports game market is full of moaning people and nothing is ever good enough, they do pretty ****ing well with the resources they have, and in a world where arcadey, freemium sports games from big developers are becoming the norm I am thankful that we have small developers out there doing their best and making solid, playable games and supporting them with patches, taking user feedback and communicating with their audience.

AFL Live 1 was widely panned at the time as well, but now people are looking at it through rose coloured nostalgic glasses, I guarantee if BA get the next one it will get just as much hate.

Agree with 95% of this post, and I am more than happy with the game itself for what it is and what the alternative is, but I disagree on fan engagement, especially since the last patch.

Have you seen or know of anyone who's been able to engage in dialogue with anybody from Wicked Witch since the last patch?

They completely ignore everyone on their fb and Twitter accounts, not a single response or any new posts with any updates, feedback etc in ages.

Plenty of people would like an update as to whether there will be a list update for 2018, or even a simple patch to fix the ability to change jumper numbers, not a single peep out of them.

It has nothing to do with nostalgia. I play Live 1 consistently to this day. There's no precision kicking in Evolution, its very limited and feels like the IR Gurus titles, where ball movement really doesn't matter. Live 2 was the panned game. I'd say Live 1 would have been mixed. Evolution acts like Live 2, which was a disaster. They should have just started from scratch again, but they're literally involved just to dump out an AFL game, no matter the quality. I'm not making that up, either. The AFL has a balance sheet, and Wicked Witch I feel are out just for the money, where as Big Ant are real fans of the sport. Ross stated he would make a loss just to make a Football game.

The game is getting a lot better. Still need to fix player positions for opposition teams when playing career mode. Sam Jacobs isn’t a CHB and Geary isn’t a full forward! If you’re a publisher reading this please fix it :)

They should give you more control over rotations by selecting what players are allowed where. They could particularly use it for ruck partnerships.

More meant when you play against the computer in career mode - the opposition teams have players all over the place in wrong positions. Would have thought this would be easy for them to sort out!

One thing I’d like to see the addition of is just a more in-depth overlook of your career. Just yearly records of things like the ladder, results, medal winners, and individual player stats to compare each year. Just something that’d give the career mode a little more of that extra something something

Yeah, a KPP gets injured and the replacements are bizarre.

Sent from mTalk

Always thought Vickery was better in the midfield..... jk :)

Still give the game an occasional go. Having played many seasons on the xbox and pc.... waiting for the footy season to start up again before I start playing it more.

I find having a break of a week or longer makes the AI more challenging - relearning the timing for marks etc. Means I'm not always thrashing the computer.

Even just a tally of career games and goals would be great. I've always wanted the same thing in FIFA too. Surely it's like a 20 second job for each player just to add a games and goals stat on their profile page (I haven't done be a pro so not sure if it's on that one, im wanting it in coach mode)

Can you kick a snap from a set shot?

I wonder if an upgraded edition is being considered for this year?

Just to improve the resolution of the grass would be a massive upgrade. It legit looks like a PS1/N64 texture

Looks like grass on pc. I dislike the shadows staying in the one spot an entire game, when I played on a lower resolution they looked like patches of mud. When I played on the proper native resolution it looked like it should have... but the graphics have to be cranked up to get the shadows to move with the players.

Still reckon when it pelts down rain, it looks amazing. I mentioned it back when I first saw it, but when you saw the drops of water smudge against the camera (more noticeable during the cutscenes/scoreboard between quarters).... that was also very good.

Yeah it's not great on PS4. Pretty fun game from my first 30 minutes of playing. Commetti's commentary keeps glitching doe.

Seems like there's a good base here to iterate and improve on.

I keep spudding running shots on goal but I"m not sure why

Could this be a business and or publishing problem more so than a WW problem though??

Maybe there was a cut off date for development, is the AFL in communication with them saying "this game is important to us and the sport, can you please update lists for the new year and upgrade the game", etc....

we don't know.
