I typically avoid watching things closely to prevent near on neurotic behaviour whilst waiting.

I guess we can now safely say that we won't be getting AFLW on release.

Anyone with logical thought already knew that though. The game has been in development for a lot longer than the AFLW has been around. AFLW teams weren't even finalised until late last year. It wouldn't be an easy undertaking either as AFLW plays entirely different, and would require a whole new set of models and textures/guernseys (plus a number of the teams don't even play at the same home ground as the men).

When I search for AFL Evolution on Steam it gives me a listing for a Fanhub demo that was apparently out yesterday, but clicking it takes me back to the steam homepage

I noticed they've been uploading on their facebook page once a week recently, so I would expect the last head scan to be posted tomorrow (Thursday) and then a trailer comes after that

I noticed that the line saying the release date is in a different font. I don't know anything about coding, but does font ever change midway? If not, then you're right about it being fake.

I don't see that ever happening even for tru blu and their wacky tactics

The tease of a demo is fantastic, I'd lose it if it was an actual gameplay demo but the fanhub is awesome as well

If it was real, I assumed it was a release date for the demo, not the game.

For what it's worth, here are the classification vs release dates:

AFL Live: Classified on 26th January, Released on 21st April (3 month turnaround)
AFL Live 2: Classified on 27th June, Released on 12th September (2.5 month turnaround)
AFL Evolution: Classified on 19th October, Released on ????

It's now been almost 6 months from classification, which is interesting. I wonder what the hold up has been? I imagine they definitely wouldn't have wanted to release it in the same time frame as the other two, since that would've put the release in January. But there's no reason to have held it back any further than round 1 when hype is at its highest.

My guess is that the product has been finished for some time now, however it required polishing due to rule changes, and potential AFL intervention forcing them to hold out for things like sponsorship to be completed.

If you ask me it doesn't make sense to release it the day before the 4 day easter weekend because shops will be closed the next day which could lower immediate sales?????
