Any gameplay videos?

It's hard to get excited for this game. Previous games have been terrible. I don't mind bad graphics as long as the game is fun. e.g. to this day i still play GTA San andreas. Unfortunately, The last few AFL games have been bad in BOTH gamplay and graphics.

As for the ground dimensions being the same, it concerns me that this has been overlooked whilst time was spent on creating the AFLW teams. Ground dimensions have a tangible effect on gameplay in real life, thus would have likely translated into affecting gameplay in AFL Evolution. Priorities are not in order when what is effectively a sprite that a number of people will likely never use was prioritised over a rather significant feature.
The difference is that AFLW is probably easier to implement whereas having varying ground dimensions forces them to alter the way the Ai works on every ground

Let them get the game playing and feeling like footy and then they can start to work on the intricacies

If you are getting your **** in a tangle over all the grounds being the same size, I can't wait to hear your thoughts once you've played the game.

It's not that I have an independent problem with them not including varying ground sizes, it's that I have a problem with them prioritising AFLW over this. If they said "we didn't have time to include it" and only focused on important things, then that's fair enough, but they didn't.

I originally thought that, but I imagine the coded boundaries of an oval is all that would require changing, and the AI should be able to work within their parameters. I've no knowledge of their engine, but if it doesn't work in a similar manner then I wonder how they've built it.

Plus, don't forget that they face scanned a number of female players. Given that only a handful of players from each AFLW and Men's team made the cut for accurate likeness, it would suggest that each face scan is time consuming. As such, even if the boundary issues were somewhat complicated, it surely would not have been much (if at all) more time consuming to implement these changes over the face scanning, jumper creations, player modelling and creation etc etc.

I don't think it would have been up to Wicked Witch as to whether AFLW would appear in the game, that would come from the AFL. So you can go and attack the 'PC brigade lefties' over at AFL house for that one.

You're probably right, sadly. I can't help but feel that this game would've been slated for release round 1 this year, but then the AFL forced them to include the AFLW players.

If the men's league had to wait almost 140 years for a video game to be made for them, then the women can, too.

Someone raised the point also that maybe the AFL said "we'll give you more money to your budget on the prerequisite that you include AFLW" and I don't see WW or tru blu saying no to that

Also as much as some people might want varying dimensions the majority don't care or notice, so in WW or tru blus eyes the inclusion of AFLW benefits them more

I'd personally rather see the AFLW included over stadiums with different ground sizes, and I imagine there's a large amount of female gamers who would feel the same.

From the developers point of view it's pretty simple really. Being able to advertise AFLW sells more copies of their product than advertising 'accurate ground sizes'. The more the game sells, the more likely they are to develop the next iteration.

As someone mentioned earlier with the older AFL games, I doubt different tactics would have much influence at all on different ground dimensions even in a new AFL game like this one. Would rather AFLW. Ground dimensions, along with a tonne of other little features, can come in future iterations hopefully.

I know that I'll be happy with the addition of AFLW though, far more relevant than the international teams or the TAC cup
Not really though, the TAC cup is a much higher standard than AFLW.

And I can see it now... Throwing my controller out of frustration when I get beaten online by an AFLW team while playing as gws etc.

I highly doubt that there will be men vs women.

Umm... You might want to look at the Wicked Witch Bonus team in the game. That has both Men and Women in the team. So that might be an actual option. (Plus I did test uploading a FanHub team with both Men and Women in it and it works.) o_O

Really? I'm not on PC so I haven't seen anything from the demo besides what others have posted, but I guess that explains why the AFLW players didn't get their own rating scale like they have on FIFA with the women's teams.
