Control scheme looks pretty deep which is promising.
Lots of interesting things there.
Manual bounce
Tap loose ball
A seperate specky button
A general soccer off ground as well as a soccer at goal.

Makes for much more varied/unpredictable gameplay and a good learning curve if they've done it all ok

Manual bounce and tap ons are cool inclusions

The pro controls are interesting as there's a tagging option and what I think is a button to change the camera on the fly (plus being able to press a button to see where the ball is will be handy similar to rocket league perhaps)

I wonder if in Career mode, there's a "Teammate Grade" feature, like in NBA 2k. For instance, if you play as a forward, doing certain things gives you points and doing others (like manually being an extra man down in defense) will give you less points, etc.

I was just looking through the game manual and it says you can look at career history stats. That's a bit weird because didn't somebody say that WW told them you can't look at career stats?

It might be that broader stats (e.g. wins, losses, goals kicked) are recorded throughout a career, whereas more in-depth stats can only be viewed per season or per game.

Wow. After reading that maual, I'm impressed. A few key things that I really like (edit: ended up being more than a few);

1. Jostling for position using the left stick and being able to bump your opponent using the right stick during marking contests.

2. Stamina matters. Everthing from sprinting to shepherding to evading to tackling uses a certain amount of stamina. Makes choosing when to do these actions more important as you don't want to run out of stamina as you're about to kick the ball!

3. Tap ons, soccer kicks, grubbers, smothers, bumps, shepherds, bananas, torps, clearance kicks, snaps, lob handballs... it's all there!

4. The ability to turn off visual aids such as the kick-power meter, wind indicator, mark timing hints, play indicators and even cut scenes if we get bored of them.

5. Choose which type of replays to show or not show such as goals, marks and even tackles!

6. 23 year career mode. If you are coach, you can set a whole plethora of things such as team lineup, training schedule, manage injured players, visit tribunal, view inbox messages, increase or decrease staff levels, manage finances and set membership and merchandise price levels.

7. Ability to follow your opponent around in Be a Pro by holding LT + Y. Will come in handy when playing as a defender on a leading forward.

8. 4 vs 4 online matches!!!

9. Manual mode. Guessing this will make the game harder such as having to bounce the ball yourself and having no kicking assist. Will be especially handy for if the game becomes too easy against the AI eventually.

10. "Gameplay – Adjust difficulty level, interchange mode, ball bounce, and kick aim assist options."

I find the last 3 interesting. I guess 'interchange mode' is just either manual or auto, and I hope there are multiple options in regards to 'kick aim assist' options, but ball bounce? Hrmmm.

More pumped for the game having seen this game manual now! Hurry up next Friday (or hopefully Tuesday ;) )

From the control scheme, it appears you can set players to automatically bounce the ball, or press Y to bounce it manually. This is most likely the setting that governs that.

I'm leaning towards it being a manual bounce whilst sprinting.

In older games, you would have to momentarily release the sprint button to make the player bounce it. Perhaps they've changed it so that it won't automatically bounce when sprinting but you can choose to do it manually. They may have even added a deeper layer of realism where there's an increased chance of fumbling a bounce if you choose to do it whilst sprinting.
