I hope we can pick who we want as our second Ruckmen....i remember live2 it will always be the FF

You'd hope so. In AFL Live 1 the game would try to select a reasonable player for it.

The auto interchange never seems to handle it very well. If I had a second ruckman on the bench, he'd often end up playing as a midfielder or something and a tall forward would wind up in the ruck. I guess it's a hard thing to get right.

People are setting themselves up for disappointment if they are hoping for someone to break the street date, it barely happens.
It's happened twice for Tru Blu's AFL games and it tends to happen all the time for Tru Blu's other games, So think of that what you will. I hope it doesn't break. (At least until Wednesday as I won't be able to pick it up until then.)

Why would you hope for it to not break? Some of us want to play it early! Take that negative energy elsewhere, buddy!
I'm Getting Around Him, as I agree with what he says. I won't be able to play the game until Friday when its out, actually I'll go even further, I wont be able to pick up the game until 1pm. I don't want any youtuber ruining it for me early.

Then don't watch any gameplay footage.

Or do watch it because it'll give an indication of whether the game is any good and you should bother with it.

When was the last time any game broke Street date? Retailers aren't that dumb any more.

Don Bradman Cricket 17 broke street date by about a week in December I think.

So less than 6 months ago.

DBC was brought forward a week to the originally rumoured date because distribution internationally went better than expected.
So it wasn't a break as such.

I bought Live 1, 3 days before its official release, and then Live 2, one week before that was suppose to come out. I subsequently returned 2 the following day. :straining:

I had a read through the manual, couldn't see much about trading players. So is it confirmed that player trades and drafting will happen at the end of the season for career mode? Any details on how it will work?

Wow. After reading that maual, I'm impressed. A few key things that I really like (edit: ended up being more than a few);

1. Jostling for position using the left stick and being able to bump your opponent using the right stick during marking contests.

2. Stamina matters. Everthing from sprinting to shepherding to evading to tackling uses a certain amount of stamina. Makes choosing when to do these actions more important as you don't want to run out of stamina as you're about to kick the ball!

3. Tap ons, soccer kicks, grubbers, smothers, bumps, shepherds, bananas, torps, clearance kicks, snaps, lob handballs... it's all there!

4. The ability to turn off visual aids such as the kick-power meter, wind indicator, mark timing hints, play indicators and even cut scenes if we get bored of them.

5. Choose which type of replays to show or not show such as goals, marks and even tackles!

6. 23 year career mode. If you are coach, you can set a whole plethora of things such as team lineup, training schedule, manage injured players, visit tribunal, view inbox messages, increase or decrease staff levels, manage finances and set membership and merchandise price levels.

7. Ability to follow your opponent around in Be a Pro by holding LT + Y. Will come in handy when playing as a defender on a leading forward.

8. 4 vs 4 online matches!!!

9. Manual mode. Guessing this will make the game harder such as having to bounce the ball yourself and having no kicking assist. Will be especially handy for if the game becomes too easy against the AI eventually.

10. "Gameplay – Adjust difficulty level, interchange mode, ball bounce, and kick aim assist options."

I find the last 3 interesting. I guess 'interchange mode' is just either manual or auto, and I hope there are multiple options in regards to 'kick aim assist' options, but ball bounce? Hrmmm.

More pumped for the game having seen this game manual now! Hurry up next Friday (or hopefully Tuesday ;) )
Didn't see any tacking buttons? I wonder if you will be able to gang tackle...

Both those things are in the game and in the manual.

We don't know exactly how they will work yet but I assume just very similar to real life.

We do know that potential draftees will show their peak rating but not their current rating when drafting them.

Thanks to auto-interchange I always had crazy things like Selwood or some other random in the ruck, with Nic Nat in the forward line and Cox on the bench

I've never understood why it was stuffed up so badly. All players should have a preferred position (in this case Cox and Nic Nat would have both been ruckmen, obviously) then if neither can ruck for whatever reason, it should go to the next most-relevant variable. Height. Sorted. Don't even need to have a variable for second favourite position for your ruckmen-forwards if it's too much work. Height works well enough as a backup.

But no, Live 2 would choose Selwood.
