Pretty sure most of us, if not all of us, want to be drafted to the team we support.
To be honest, i'd love to go to St Kilda but i have played with them in every single AFL game.
What will everyone hope to be drafted by in career mode & why?
I'd probably want to go to a low team and build up over a few years and become the best team.

Everybody wants to go to Hawthorn it seems... this is getting out of control...

Already made my 200cm KPF hoping to get drafted to Port Adelaide.

Not 100% sure if we start in the TAC Cup or VFL or how it works but if I was playing at one of those clubs beforehand or during I'd choose Gippsland Power in the TAC Cup or 1 of Collingwoods 2nds/Port Melbourne in the VFL.

Said a while back that I like the idea of drafting in career mode because it will encourage us to play as teams we probably wouldn't and TBH I'm going to try and play through whoever drafts my first player just for the experience of it but are there any teams you will refuse to play for?

It is just a game after all, still if the Eagles draft me I'm probably going to save scum until they change their mind :)

So St Kilda then.

Fumbling is a really good point. I feel this is a huge part of the game. Fumbles, tap ons congestion around the ball etc. You don't just want a free flowing game of footy otherwise it isn't really close to the real game.

Ill be playing with the saints cant see myself wanting to play for any other club im one of those supporters who hates every club but the saints haha....on the half back flank

Hate to break it to everyone, but there is no draft in my player mode. You get offered contracts by a few different teams, like the coach career mode in AFL live 2.

If you start in the TAC and do well then you might get offers from a few different VFL or AFL teams, but there is no draft

Fairly certain it was already confirmed you start at TAC then VFL and then into the draft.

It's been confirmed that there is no draft in Be A Pro mode. You play in the Under 18s and then you receive contract offers from clubs. No idea how many clubs will offer you a contract, but the draft only exists in the game when you do a career mode (i.e. take control of an entire club). Very disappointing, after Wicked Witch had previously indicated you would get drafted in Be A Pro mode.

Ah, you beat me to it.

Yeah although a proper draft system is definitely what we all want this is another one of those things that won't really bother me if the game is fun to play and at least the offer system has the possibility of mixing it up a bit.

If I want a change from playing with Freo I can always create a young KPF and force myself to play with another club.

Free Agency should be easy to implement in the game.

Here's how it could work.

In career mode, it records how many years each player is at their first AFL club. After eight seasons, players have UFA and something can pop up and you can decide if you want to get traded, and to whom. The club will try to deal, but if the deal is rejected, then you have to stay.

After your tenth season, you can choose to stay at the club, or leave to the club of your choice. The club you pick then drops someone from their list, who then goes in the draft. Also, salary cap should be a factor, and to get to the club of your choice, you may have to ask for less, or the nominated club has to "make room for you".

The game should automatically work out who are 8 and 10 year players, and offer FA accordingly, which you can choose to implement. How hard is that?
