Did I not inform you that nobody wishes for you to mention player ratings? My god! Do that in your own thread you specifically created for it. Be gone with you!

All I've been doing is responding to others posts. I am in no wrong doing, I did not bring it up, they did.

In response, there is no way that would be the case. The player renders were done in 2015. Rating players would be one of the last tasks. The game is based on 2017 lists, so the ratings would need to take into account the 2016 season and possibly even part of 2017 season. If what you say is true then Max Gawn would be rated below Tom Hickey, Tom Lynch would be rated in the early 80s, Dangerfield would be ranked below Robbie Gray and Conor Blakeley would be rated in the mid 60s. Not to mention the cover star. You see, it wouldn't work this way. They will do the ratings pretty much last!

OK 15 year old obsessed with the ratings kid you know that there will be a player editor where you can edit a player yourself on the game. It will take all of about 2 hours to update all of the players in the AFL. They aren't some magic formula they just will have things like speed/strength/marking/accuracy etc

Well, unfortunately for me you may have a point. Needless to say you are not being forced to reply... (and yes I am aware that I also do not need to) lol just EVERYONE...NO MORE!

So all the QA they're doing at the moment has players running around with 0 ratings?

From what I've heard of the beta testing the players are so slow it's like they hardly move at all, they can't kick, can't handball and don't know how to tackle.

Sounds like FIFA

Champion data ranks every player from 1st to 700th. It's more likely they will use those rankings (like it or hate it) as the cornerstone of its player ratings. Injured players would obviously need to be tweaked.

Mate, they aren't going to use the ratings you've wasted school holidays on.

And even if they did, surely we'll be able to adjust them accordingly!!

GTL is a walking contradiction. Happy to cite reports that people have seen the gameplay and it's great, but at the same time claiming ratings wouldn't even be in the game yet.

If development is far enough along that people have seen good gameplay, but no ratings have been done, then the player ratings must have no in-game effect which renders his whole exercise even more pointless.

But that would be a pointless time waster to do them first as they would simply need to redo them all closer to release.
Why would they need to redo them? Regardless of whether they did the ratings the day after the grand final or the day before release, no-one has played any AFL in that time so you can't say anyone has improved. "Training the house down" doesn't count either.
