Tbh that's like one of the least important things about the game , get the basics right before all the fancy stuff
Well aware, just curious

Classic teams with past players are not allowed from the AFL or the players association, however that’s why we have created the online fanhub, because when they are made as user generated content, then that is the only way we can get them in the game. Creating jumpers on the fanhub is a good idea, we have been looking into this and the complex issues it causes.

All I want for custom teams is being able to select any team's guernsey style and recolour it, like the Ultimate Footy guernsey creator. :thumbsu:

Great to read that from WW..

it must be exciting times in the game development process..

Can you elaborate anything on gameplay style in this game yet or too early??

Great to read about the game hub..

What are you excited about with this new game??

(If you're allowed to talk about)

In fairness gothelions put in an amazing effort with his ratings rather than just posting recommendations/criticisms etc like many of us..
And yet both him and the rest of us ended with the same result - he just took a lot longer and was much more pointless.

Grubber kicks has been a missing component for a long time. Live 1 nor did any of the old games have it, so that's very nice Wicked Witch will be including it this time around. Will there will an emphasis on keeping the ball in play? Such as tapping it away from the boundary lines, or keeping the players from running over their own goal line when you need to stop on the spot to kick the goal. That's plagued footy games for a long time, even going into Live 1, they never tried to fix that annoying flaw.

So, the player ratings debate! From our perspective, there are a few factors here. Firstly, we have our own algorithms that rate these on a combination of the other 100 stats that each player has, typically at the start of a season. The stats are also influenced by position, and other factors. This is so when you train those players up, the rating goes up as you would expect, or if you move them around, things try and balance out. Furthermore, each of these stats is weighted differently to get it as meaningful as we can. Compounding that, is that the team rating is made up from the player ratings, again, so when you get better players, your team rating goes up. This means the team rating is made up from over 2000 weighted stats that all have an effect in game, some obvious like speed, stamina, accuracy, and others are more subtle. Having said that, we also get directions from the AFL statisticians, and these final ratings for the default out of the box have to be approved by the AFL! And I am curious, will anyone EVER all happily agree on player ratings? ;)

I think there'll always be some dissatisfaction and disagreement, especially when it comes to players from our own teams. However, I would much prefer the players be rated according to some system that draws on empirical real-world data rather than some dude's opinion.

So you want Sam Jacobs to be rated 93 then? Its not just my opinion, quite a few of us have been chipping in to get the list very accurate.

I know you've been going on about this for a while, but you do know that on the most recent roster update (Live 2 iOS) Sam Jacobs is not a 93?

In comparison to Ivan Maric getting an 83 under your system, Sam Jacobs should get a 930.
