I think the draw is a very good one. Many complained on here about too many Sunday twighlight games, and too many sunday games full stop, that has changed. Yes we only get 2 friday night games, but they are both our Home games against big drawing clubs. We dont have to play either sydney or west coast away, and we get more games at the MCG.

How do you think I'm feeling, Jonty? I was crossing my fingers for a Sydney game and thats far more feasible:(

i'm feeling the pain too. we went 10 seasons of not playing them in melbourne, i move to sydney last year and we play them twice in a row in melbourne and not at all in sydney!!!

Only 2 Sunday twilight games is a plus. I spent a lot of time this year making Sunday dinner with the laptop in the kitchen listening over the internet. Would of liked to have seen more Friday night games and the possibility of a NAB Cup game at Manuka.

This will mark the second year that we have not played Sydney in Sydney. The AFL had to make sure that we did not keep any supporters in the Canberra area by ensuring we don't play in NSW (or the ACT) for at least three years.....or am I being cynical.

Every genuine Canberran went off the 'Roos (and the AFL) when the GC thing was set up - understandably, the AFL showed the ACT exactly where it stands when they put up the extra cash necessary to make the GC viable. There's only those of us who aren't originally from Canberra who remain.

the power at the G was a strange one.

we will be lucky to get 20,000 - 30,000 to this game.

Its not so strange now. Its clear the AFL think (probably correctly) that the GC is over the line with the board and shareholders.
They want to ensure there's an empty ground for the farewell, and no sympathy for the club like there was when Fitzroy were killed off.

It's a North supporter's obligation to be cynical about the scumbags /AFL. Once again we play our b*tches, Essendon, only ONCE next season..

So much for that big rotational schedule that the AFL proposed when the 16 teams in 22 weeks instead of 24 weeks. Pathetic AFL pathetic!

The flivious given excuse of not able to schedule MCG co-tenants Melb v Rich at the 'G just shows how f**ked up the AFL really is. Bunch of pathetic liars.

Won't be long before the AFL adopts the 'divisions & conferences' fixturing formula. That's the only feasable way that they will make more $$$ if they pursue the avenues of squaring the Vic powerhouse 'crowd pulling' teams into two seperate divisions. Can't miss and may be, just may be, North can play more Victorian teams if the North board do the RIGHT thing soon.

The AFL will get thier wish of ONE INTERSTATE & Victorian team in the GF every year without miss. Before anyone bothers to flame me on this radical 'silly idea'.... It's not my idea, it's something I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest that the AFL capable of pulling off. The GF is now becoming a fully fledged corporate EVENT anyway. They can't lose...a Interstate & Victorian team Prelims.. it's an easy fix for them as they crave a truly national comp.

Being cynical of the AFL is a Vic supporters obligation.
