An away game is any game not at the MCG or UTAS I don't care if it's nuetral we still had to travel and play on a foreign ground. We will not be playing Port away twice. And we will not be playing against Collingwood away either.

So while we still have 11 home and 11 away + gather round, we will not play 3x H&A games in Adelaide like we did this year, we will play 2 maximum.

Last year we played collingwood twice but only once at MCG. Be nice for that to be 2x MCG games.
You deliberately tried to miss the point. Surely.

We are the home team in gather round. We very much may be playing them away twice

when do we get "the armchair ride/soft fixture" like the 'favourites' get? :drunk:
You mean like Geelong get?

The bottom 4 team at home like they get in the last round each year for an easy pre finals warm up would be nice but I doubt it.

We’ll get one of the top 3 toughest draws whilst the Cats get a softer draw than anyone else that made the 8.
Bank on it

It’s kind of you to keep letting them live rent free in your head in the midst of a rental crisis.

EDIT: Misread the article!

We’re playing West Coast in round 2.

So far that’s:

OR: Swans
1: Scum
2: Eagles
3: ?
4: ?
5: Port (Gather Round)
6: Cats (Easter Monday)

Article mentions bye in first 5 weeks
There’s already 3 away games

It doesn’t say we are playing West Coast in round 2 - it says Eagles supporters can watch Barrass in our colours in the ‘second game of the season’ as we are playing the Friday night.

Not rent free at all.

They get looked after more than any other club.
It’s not just Hawthorn supporters that feel this way it’s a league wide sentiment
Its a jealousy for being successful and up for so long. Geelong does a lot of things right. However so do we and when we do, we eventually salute

I think you're right. You definitely read it better than I did

What a nothing article then!

It is - thread after thread after thread on here posters can’t help but bring Geelong into a conversation that has nothing to do with them. Considering we have won two iconic flags against them I really don’t know why some posters let the bumpkins get to them so much. We have more success than them - they are our befuddled little cousins forever living in our shadow. Stop letting them get to you.

Not sure I understand the people upset with playing away against port for Gather round. If EVERYONE is playing in Adelaide you might as well kill one of your away games against them with that trip.

I'd much rather play Adelaide or Port away in Gather round which we need to do at some point in the season anyway than play a "home" game against Collingwood And then have to go back again to play Adelaide and Port as an away team.
Because it is not one of our 11 away games. It is an extra, neutral game for 14 clubs other than Port and Crows who get a home game and two Vic clubs who get an extra away game.

Anyway, the season structure as we know it has three years left to run, that means we will have had five gather rounds before 2028, so each Vic club plays one of the SA clubs over there. Neat.
