how much does it make you puke when you see and hear of all of these corporate fat cats who go to the grand final every year, not giving a s#!t about it, just for a free meal and glass of champagne.

the amount of people that would walk over a dead body for their seat would be astounding. it is quite sad to think that those loyal supporters of the represented clubs who go all season round will mosty likely miss out so some corporate can enjoy a free meal and drinks.

the people's ground. come september 29, i think not

Makes sure your gas bottle is filled and your fridge is full of cans on September 29 because that's what the common man must resign himself to nowadays.

And you can charge yourself $12.50 everytime you get a beer and a sausage to make it even more like you're really there.

Where do these travel agents get these tickets from??
From the clubs allocations.
How is this allowed??
The AFL allow it.

And ironically they have had the government legislate against scalping for the GF. (unless you are a club or the AFL of course!)

Meanwhile the poor bastards who support their club every week year in year out miss out.

Saw an ad in the paper the other day...something like $2500 for GF tickets, a couple of nights acomm at one of the big hotels and a couple of meals/functions.Where do these travel agents get these tickets from?? How is this allowed??
Blatent selling-out to the highest bidder.
Sponsorship deals with travel agencys. Each team gets a certain number of tickets, and the club allocates them to players, family and sponsors. Quite a few of the tickets are given to travel agencys who sell them for a shit load of money.

It's pretty simple really. GF official package used to cost $750 or you could buy a ticket through an unofficial reseller for $500. Official tickets were $120 (which were really hard to get).

Justin Madden introduced legislation to "protect the average footy fan"

Now the unofficial resellers don't exist due to the legislation. So only 4 years later... GF packages cost $1500-$2000, Official tickets cost $175 (which are still hard to get).

I think the average footy fan would've preferred to pay $500 unofficially than $1500 officially.

Bet Justin Madden gets a free ticket this year...
