Clearances are up and so are KV's chances this year lol with B Deitz, B Singleton and R white pending being cleared they are all starting 22 quality ( and if fit ) rep level players. If they dont lose any they should close the gap to City/Terrigal

word is Newcastle City have signed ex afl player Clive Waterhouse for the 2014 season. Good pick up for the blues.

Not much mate, but if i was in charge at Gossy i would be quick to sign the paperwork back to the bdafl ( hunter coast ) Also is Macquarie still alligned with the Dockers? Cos Balmain are all but Tigers once more!!
It will be interesting to see how Lake Macquarie and Singleton go in 2014. Also be good to see Nelson Bay go well and continue success in Premier Division.

Looks like Killarney Vale will be the big improvers in 2014 then based on White Deitz and Singleton in. White was a very good player here i recall a few years back and playing in a better competition would only serve him well which spells danger for other sides.
Have heard a rumor around another former Fremantle player Matthew Clucas moving to the area. Would be a good get for a club looking for an experienced midfielder.

If Dietz's brother has passed on any of his footy knowledge (whom I regard as the best footy mind to be produced in Central Coast), then he will be a very good pick up for the Bombers along with White and, barring any other departures will make them second favourites after City for the flag
It would be very disappointing if that's the case and I'm sure the BDAFL would be doing everything possible to assist and prevent this.

For now Balmain are still Dockers but i think there is a big push from a lot of ppl involved in the club to become 'Tigers' once more
KV continue to impress in clearances with Tim Snelling returning ( best short ruckman around ) back in his day had a huge leap, the ins at KV could nearly be the starting 4 in the middle!! Manuelle from Gossy also joining the Bombers should really compete at business end of season

I've been told he'll play 4-6 games throughout the year and finals if KV make it and he's available.

Some interesting clearances with McVeigh to KV and Jon Gourley to Terrigal. Obviously both very hand pickups.
A very handy addition for Terrigal who will now be hard to beat given their strength across the park and KV must be excited about the prospect of McVeigh!

The New England Nomads of Armidale would like extend their congratulations to Cardiff for taking out consecutive Sport UNE Tablelands Cups on the weekend.
A great day of footy was followed by a better night.

Practice Match Wrap
Cardiff have made it back to back Tablelands Cup after defeating Coffs Harbour Swans in the final on Saturday. The Hawks win was part of a successful weekend for BDAFL clubs in practice matches.
The Tablelands Cup saw Cardiff, Coffs Harbour Swans, Wyong Lakes, Tamworth Kangaroos and hosts, New England Nomads compete.
In hot conditions Cardiff were able to remain undefeated, including beating the Swans in the final by four goals to claim the title.
Cardiff were best served by Beau Heeney, Shannon Mangovski, Mick Ryan, Zac Metcalfe, Jackson McMahon, Liam Gibson, Matt Vukovich.
Coach Adam Dugan was pleased with the weekend but is now focussed on their season opener against Warners Bay.
"A good day overall. Coffs were a good side. We’ll be looking to sharpen up over the next fortnight prior to Round 1" Dugan said.
Wyong Lakes also acquitted themselves taking a young squad up and recorded a good first up win over Tamworth before being beaten by Cardiff and the New England side.
Terrigal Avoca continued their impressive pre-season form recording their second consecutive win over an AFL Sydney side, this time overcoming Western Suburbs in Sydney by two points.
In a good quality match the Panthers were able to prevail in the end and were pleased to get through the match with no injuries.
Warners Bay also travelled to Sydney to take on 2013 AFL Sydney Division Three Premiers, Blacktown at Lakeside Oval.
In a mixed match played over six periods, Warners Bay were able to record a 12 goal win.
Troy Gordon was a standout in his return to the Bulldogs finishing the game with eight goals. Lachlan Deverell Luke McKenna and new recruit Joe McKern all got plenty of ball around the ground whilst Luke Rankovich in his first ever AFL game was outstanding.
Newcastle City hosted AFL Sydney powerhouse, Pennant Hills at Dick Burwell Oval on Sunday.
Like the AFL match the previous day, lightning strikes resulted in the game being stopped for 20 minutes, however one the game resumed the match was an even contest and worthwhile for both teams.
In the end Pennant Hills won by approx eight goals.
With a number of key players missing the Blues were impressed with the form of Abe Gibson and newcomer Patrick McMahon, both of whom showed the benefit of playing for the BDAFL Representative side a fortnight ago.
Another pleasing sign was the performance of juniors Harry Keast and Jackson Playfair with neither of them had played against men before.
2013 McBain medallist, Courtney Knight also showed good early season form to finish with four goals.
Killarney Vale took on Macquarie University at Mac Uni Oval in a mixed six period game, with the last three periods featuring those players in contention for a senior birth in Round one. The Bombers were able to win the three term game by 15 points.
Standouts for the Bombers included, Max Mumford, Michael Besley, Brendan Lewis whilst new recuits Rick White and Bryce Singleton showed their class when they were introduced into the match.
The pleasing thing out of the game for the coach, John Pidgeon was that the club looiks to have excellent depth this year which is something the club was lacking in 2013.
In the final game, Nelson Bay proved too strong for Gosford winning the game comfortably at Dick Burwell Oval
Former Sydney AFL rep and Pennant Hills KPP Alistair Richardson apparently cleared to Terrigal Avoca.
