Thoughts from the DLC so far:
-Rucks still a problem Broadbent has more hitouts then lobbe wut *Temporary fix; chucked redden on the bench and he went straight to the ruck when lobbe came off however redden went to ruck rover when lobbe came back on
-Oppo kicks straight just has 18.2 the 2 were rushed behinds
-The remapped controls are ok pretty much the reason I got the dlc; left trigger and y is no longer spoil its just thumbstick. when flicking thumbstick without the ball still swaps players not like live 1 when they were bumps. Y does not tackle as afl live 1 it is the afl live 2 style
-Nice touch with injured player slowly walking by to get to the interchange-cut scene there is also nice
-would of liked to see some supporters on the hill of Adelaide oval
-Interchange is still a bit flawed says hartlett comes off ebert on but both still on the ground wut
-Don't know if this was before the patch but trying to play on quickly sometimes causes the player to kick with the opposite foot so it goes out of bounds :/
-Defenders run to the center leaving the oppos chf/ff free
-Hartlett looks pretty good schulz looks like a sad bear
- it's pretty enjoyable so far; better but still a few small places to smooth out

Feels really laggy... To the point where it has stuffed up a few plays.
Also as said above, opponent never misses. Oh and you can never win Ruck on Legend.
Those things really piss me off about the game atm but other than that it's better.

Still think if AFL Live 1 had a similar DLC in terms of gameplay improvement, cut scenes, graphics etc with the added career mode, it would have been 100x better.

Edit: Yeah what Les said :)

I'm only guessing but assume the patch is bug fixes etc like most patches are and what most games get. Will be surprised if there's anything significantly new in there

The DLC will be the 2014 upgrade and the new cut scenes/ celebrations etc. Expecting it to have a price attached to it so it'll be good to hear from anyone on what the xbox one costs.

I suppose any updates to game dymanics etc could be in either, I've downloaded it but never played it enough to say whats different and still looking for a 1.02 patch document/info.

You should be surprised because at first glance game play has changed considerably with only the patch(PS3), much better flow to the game, and unlike AFL 1 the game feels even less like it is on rails. I am enjoying the game tremendously. The fact that people are going from winning by 40 to losing by 40 on same difficulty level proves there has been considerable game changes. Big thanks to wicked witch.

I like the changes to footy factory, with 'delisted' and 'custom pool' player lists, like AFL Live 1.
Does anyone know how to make a custom team? or does that come with the season pack (I only have the patch)

Ok maybe I spoke to soon there are some good additions with the patch but there are some things I am not happy with as well. Will try a lower difficulty, but on hard as another person pointed out the AI hardly ever misses a shot. There is no point in using the right analog set shot, because its just (SPOILER) easier to shoot with a modified x. And here is the biggest problem , if you want to go back to the old patch I think you can't because I believe it rights over 1.1 with patch 1.2, losing 1.1 forever. Anyway you can get patch 1.1 back, because if you erase the patch you erase both and then you go back to the original un patched version, witch is inferior to both new patches.
They should warn you that it will over right patch 1.01. Will try a different difficulty, but the AI making almost every shot from any distance, takes the suspense out of the game. And that is coming from someone that just praised wicked witch for the patch. Any way to get patch 1.1 back, if turns out we like that patch better?

Cheers and Salud

Seppo was the AI's divine accuracy evident when you were at the testing?

Played about 3 or 4 games on medium and they never missed once, dropped down to easy and saw two behinds in a further 4 games (NAB cups). 6.1 in torrential rain was about their worst day in front of the sticks, I'm sure some forwards got dropped for that effort.

Hopefully its an unexpected flow on from the changes and will get a fix sooner rather than later.

I just played a game with the patch and I'm not impressed. It still has most of the issues the game already had and now has added the new issue of the AI never missing goals. I don't understand why people say the marking is better in this game when it all comes down to your player being in the better position first. It's almost impossible to do anything if your slightly out of position going into the contest, particularly when your player has their back to the ball.

Just need to rebuild from the ground up. Hopefully with the current gen the developers are able to do a little more but having players not miss shots is criminal and leaves me dumbfounded how this was not picked up in the beta.

umm, i thought thats what marking is meant to be... when you are in a better position you normally have more chance of taking the mark.. how is that a bad thing lol, we dont want to see marks taken from players who were nowhere in the contest.

Absolutely require patch 1.01 back ASAP. Someone please help for the love of god.

Are most of the issues people have simply when playing against the AI? Or do they extent to multiplayer mode
I would imagine for two players it would be a good patch.
My main complaint is the AI rarely misses and normally hits it straight down the middle.

My issue with the AI is on the ps3 patch, are people with Xbox 360 experiencing the same thing with a AI hardly missing issue? I am hoping it is a bug that will be fixed because the other additions to the patch make the game better, but the AI issue makes you want to go back to the original 1.01 patch. Yes it is that annoying, didn't, wicked witch have test session with fans of the game, I noticed this by game 2?

Cheers and SaludSalud

Hi all, I am beyond desperate to return to patch 1.01. If anyone can help greatly appreciated. Willing to pay money for someone's version of 1.01. Thanks.

The game feels pretty much the same. It'd be tough to make up for the gameplay faults with graphical/animation fixes. AFL live 1 had a solid backbone to work with and develop, it still feels like AFL live 2 is a bit off.

You have no control to get in a good position though. You can't run from behind and sneak your way in front, you just run past it, even though your opponent is just standing still. The whole idea of running onto a mark in the game is pretty much non-existent and when you have your back to the ball your player doesn't turn around and attempt to mark/spoil, he just keeps facing the wrong way.
Just because one player is randomly in the better position to start with doesn't mean that it should be hard for the other player to make a contest.

It takes practice but it can be done, and if you see you can't get good positioning you go for the spoil.
I am trying to see why some people like afl live 1 better. I always thought marking was more interactive in afl live 2. May have to give afl live another try, I was a big supporter of afl live 2 with the first patch 1.01 but with 2nd patch 1.02 ,even though there was some good changes in 1.02 tha AI not missing and kicking so perfect ruins the whole experience. They must fix this, or give us patch 1.01 back. I great deal of the fun is anticipating if the
AI will make there shots, with patch 1.02 there is no anticipation!!

Cheers and Salud
