I think just about EVERY EB (With the exception of Glenno's) has apparently lost the plot on this game. Who knows who is to blame for that though, I am sure BigAnt and Tru Blu supply enough sufficent information AND screenshots to help EB staff provide their customers with accurate information on this game in particular.

That would be head office. We have had nothing but silence regarding them. they didn't tell us to put them up, or take them down, they just got sent

Don't blame my fellow store managers who know no better ;)

But, i will say, that the AFL slicks currently should not be up in any store, as they are not in our planned set up for the coming soon sections

Now i'm off for sure, as my flight leaves at 8:30

Adios

I bet there's 4000 Carlton jumpers and like none for other teams.
I wonder if the hideous red/grey training jumper is in (I do doubt this). There were 4 new screenshots put up just this week...

Oh and it looks like the simulation was right.:(

Yes, of course :)

and Yes dammit :(

If the graphics are anything like this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2jMvVWk03I , I'll be pretty disappointed

In bigants defense the grounds on rugby league live look pretty good (espescialy the mcg) unfortunately the same can't be said for players and players animation.

Sorry Ross.

Btw on the earlier point I made about the mcg looking fantastic in the rugby league live game.

Are the mcg in the rugby and new afl game the same model or did you do a new model of the mcg for the new afl game ?

All new models for stadia and players (the players in League are different shapes to those in the AFL {generally speaking}).

PS: In LAX, can't wait to get back to Oz. This does not mean press releases are imminent/or not, it means I am getting on a plane so won't be able to post here :)

is the wii game gonna look the same as the xbox360 & ps3 one or is it gonna look heaps crapper? because wickedwitch is making the wii one and im worried in terms of the psp outcome they did not long ago, they said they had registered players or something like that and they only had 22 players for each team not even interchange, and dont get me started on the graphics!!!

The Wii game can't possibly have the same graphics as the Ps3/X360/PC versions as the underlying hardware does not allow for that.

I have played the Wii version and beleive it is very competitive with other Wii sports product.

I have a question for Ross that I'm fairly sure hasn't been asked (apologies if it has!) regarding playing the game on a Japanese ps3. On this console, the O button is used to approve a selection and the X button is used to cancel, whereas on foreign ps3 consoles (i.e. Australian) these functions are switched. This has lead to an issue with games such as Just Cause 2, where you have to press the X button, hold it and then press the O button for it to work, which ruins the gameplay. Apparently there's a similar problem with Red Dead Redemption that affects side activities like playing poker and arm wrestling. Will this be a problem with the AFL game? If so, will a patch be released to repair it?

On another note, thanks Ross for all of the information you've kindly given us. I've been quietly watching this thread grow over 10 parts  and like everyone appreciate the time and effort you've taken to keep us in the loop.

Fifa11 has been out for longer, thats why.
The vibe and hype for this game is very positive and uplifting..Gives me the feeling that BigAnt have produced a game up to the standards of EA etc...

i might actually not buy it.... 99 bucks for a game i dont think even fifa11 is that much tbh ...

There's a lot of blood, sweat and tears gone into the Wii version.... I know that they have gone beyond the call for it, late nights, weekends.

It's $99 because the potential number of units is restricted to the Australian population alone, it's a flip of the coin as to whether it makes money or not. The guys at HES/Tru Blu are very brave to take the gamble.

I really don't know! I will try to find out for you. I know it will run on a Japense PS3 - just not sure about whether it is firmware or software that controls that button switch.

Yes, but that is football, and this Australian Rules. Do you see the difference there??

To answer the original post. I have been in negotiations with EA on a number of products and they will not sign anything that does not ship 1 Million units, period. They had the rights to Cricket but did not ship. They had the rights to Rugby Union and did not ship. If they had the rights to AFL do you think they would ship??

This week we had announcements at DICE, the conference that I was at in Vegas, that the guitar hero franchise was axed amongst others. The big guys are trimming their releases, things are going the way of hollywood for games, fewer releases that are made for mass audience, nothing for the fringes.

This is a dream project for me, but also a great personal risk as had it not turned out as well as it has done then I would have been completely shattered. I applaud HES/Tru Blu for having the courage to allow us to make a game that *I* want to play, and have wanted to make since I started in games 33 years ago.

I can't wait, for your sake, for the game to come out and the positive reviews coming flooding in, both here and elsewhere. Sounds like you guys will certainly deserve it!! :thumbsu:

Thanks. I am certainly nervous. Jason Hill loved it, which is a good sign, but there are many reviewers who are not AFL fans, so we will see :)
