Don't wanna sound un-appreciative but isn't this a big ommission?

It's the first game. They built it from scratch. I think that this sort of thing would be included in later versions. Ross said that he could have included things like be s pro mode, but they couldn't do it justice, which is a good sign because it shows that they want the game to be as good as it can be without any second rate features that are just there because they could.

I'd actually be very surprised if you were able to do this, as it's a feature that was only introduced through the NBA 2K series a couple of years ago.

This feature was in the early NBA live series up until 03 or 05 i think then they stopped it.

Hi Ross,

Will we have full control of marking contests?

In previous games when the ball was kicked into space the computer would just automatically mark it for you.

How have you implemented running marks on the lead?

The marking is really quite good, lots of animations for all different marking situations too. Definitely full control, if you don't push the marking button you ain't going to be marking it.

just a question to Ross and anyone whose played the game: How is the running in this game? for example, when your playing as Chris Judd can you just tuck the ball under your arm, arch your back and burn of 3 or 4 players in 10 meters if it's in a contest? that's the way I play in AFL '07 haha

Thanks for all the info guys, really helpful. But I'm still a touch confused about the Season mode... I've read a number of times there is no 'Franchise' mode but there is a continuous season mode (10 years?)... Am I on the money here? If so, isn't this just the same as a 'Franchise' mode? I'm presuming after each season you can take part in trade week as well as the National / Rookie drafts...?

It's been said by Ross before that the simplest reason for not having a franchise mode is that it would take too much away from getting the gameplay as good as possible.

It's a situation where you could've had a franchise mode, but the gameplay might've been 10 times worse than where it's at now. It's all about the building blocks of an awesome game, this one has the gameplay at a stage that is fun and has plenty of longevity to it and the online which will hopefully add the most longevity too outside of the season mode. From here the gameplay can just be tweaked each year and the big and better features can be put in to complete it.

It's contextual mostly. Sprint can trigger play on, so can moving off the mark. Not actually sure about the kick outs though.

Did we ever find our how putting players in your custom team works? I'd assume it's the same as NBA etc where you just have a copy of the player in each team, rather than removing him from his original team.

You would be better off creating a team and getting rid of essendon all together.

And using your create a team in place of essendon that way you might actually win something.

why cant the music in the game be told!!!! it must be coz it is an actual song written by a band and not specifically for the game. in that case i would guess 'Snakeskin' by Gyroscope or 'I'm Shipping up to Boston' by Dropkick Murphey's
