Hopefully Ross can answer this for PS3

Seeing as we will be able to save squads, i presume they will be under the game save data, which would mean that we could load custom squads (ie if another user made the VFL squads, we could download them off here, and play them)

Would that be possible (I think trophies would be disabled when playing with someone else's roster though)

EB at Market Square in Geelong has the Wii feature set advertised for the PS3/360 versions as well as using the Wii cover. Plus it has the AFL Premiership 2006 screenies on the back. Dodgy

Whereas at JB Hi-Fi right next door they have correct slicks for all three games, and strong advertising in store. Odd how things can be varied so much.

Can't remember what EB in Westfield Geelong did however I have a feeling it was the Wii cover and feature set for the PS3/360 versions as well.

I haven't been to the city stores for a while but at Waurn Ponds EB they didn't have a thing.

Some of the EB stores around Hobart still have the crappy cover claiming to be on all 3 platforms showing on the shelves for pre order, i imagine there will be a few angry customers when they get their ps3 or 360 copy and find no VFL. I've told a couple of them when i've been in there and was responded with "yeah, i know".
Honestly I'm not surprised any EB/JB/GAME or any store selling games has the wrong slicks in...

The EB Games literally around the corner from BigAnt Studios still has the Wii slicks in for the PS3/360 version...............:eek::eek::rolleyes:
I have read that Big Ant are trying to eliminate meters and so forth from the game to make it more natural. I hope they've succeeded and I hope that when you play you feel like you're in control. If I don't mark the ball I want it to be because I know I've done something wrong, not that I called heads when the game says tails.
Absolutely no need to worry. Basically everything you mentioned is the opposite in AFL Live.:)

But I would also be into buying the PC version as usually games run smoother, and there's usually mod support for these types of games.

Or is your license strict on that no modifications are allowed and all the files are secured etc?

I doubt the community will be big enough for much modding.

Welcome to the forums.

Haha a few years ago I searched for a heap of roster patches for AFL Live Premiership Edition on PC and ended up downloading many viruses

Thanks mate :)

Just too excited for this game, Can't belive it's just around the corner, I'm pretty sure I heard about it a year and a half or so ago, but was told they couldn't find a publisher or something, I'm so glad it's all going ahead now.

I almost fell victum to this only days ago

Did you find any that worked though

Nah nothing at all unfortunately. Doesn't have the community of something like NBA Live on the PC which gets regular updates (my 2005 version is modded with 2011 rosters :thumbsu:)

I'm saving pennies to buy a PS3 just for this game.... and Fifa... and NBA 2K11

Fifa's good until you do season mode and you buy a 20mill striker who gets injured, so you put on your second best and he gets injured, and then one comes back after you buy another one and he also then gets injured..... I've been down 3 strikers for 12 weeks + in under a year on my mode, it's heaps awesome in that sense that random shit can happen like that.

Really REALLY hoping they work on a "Manager" type mode with drafts etc, or in the next game, For sports games it really makes them much more replayable.

Either way, the "season" thing in this is still going to be bloody awesome, Do we know how many seasons we can do before it doesn't let us anymore? "Most games have say a 7 year seasons game, after 7 years you "retire" etc

I don't really mean to bash HES/Tru Blu, but in all honesty, has ever a Developer done so much for their customers while the Publisher did so little?

I mean, Ross has spent countless hours on this forum answering questions and giving insight, whilst all HES/Tru Blu have done is restrict information, not release any.

HES/Tru Blu have taken the very big risk of publishing a game that will only sell in 4 states... without them there is no game.

I thank you for the kind words though :)

PS: It's ANZ stadium (someone got sick of the Buddy picture and requested a change ;) )

I'm just happy they let Ross do this.
It was a great idea from Ross, it's built a lot of hype and has taken away a lot of the doubt that comes with AFL video games. I wish more developers would try it.

I felt sorry for you that you're putting in all this hard work that, in reality, should be the publisher's job. But then I remembered you go on a "business trip" (almost?) every fortnight:p

Hey, back in the day EA themselves was the ones developing the AFL Games ! haha :p

I don't know why they're only publishing this into Australia... Quite a few Americans either have seen or don't know much about the sport and really like it, I don't like / know much about NFL, But as long as the games decent I enjoy it, I learn the rules, and I play the game...

Why not go over seas? I'm sure there's some American sport fans that'll be interested in playing a new sports game, As long as in the end the game is actually decent to play, which the rest of us will all find out in april.

I'd be trying to take it to the USA, Or even do a PSN/360 Download service for the game if you can.

The game looks like it plays pretty well, All I'm saying is there's more hardcore "Sports gamer fans" than there is die hard "AFL" fans, Like me with NFL, I don't like the sport much, But ****ing love the game, So maybe think about taking it over there on the cheap if possible.

Ross,

That isn't accurate.

I can confirm at least one copy is coming to Canada. ;)

Read the FAQs dude. That is covered.

Hi Ross,

Will we have full control of marking contests?

In previous games when the ball was kicked into space the computer would just automatically mark it for you.

How have you implemented running marks on the lead?

Or even better, can you set it up so you only control one player? For example, what if I only want to control Travis Boak???

I'd answer that, but I see you asked for Ross, and I know how much he loves these questions
