Looking at the gameplay vid posted on facebook by that Rhys guy, i was quite impressed by how natural and fluent the game play was

Commentary was average, but thats been stated as much (not quite) as sock-Gate

I can't wait for the next 5 weeks to be over.*

*I do not know the date, this is an excited fan drooling over a game thats out soon

Got a link to the vid, mate?

Just a couple of questions.

1.this will be more so towards Ross which members of the big ant team will be in attendance at the werribee play session if you know or can answer ?

2. This question goes to anyone who might know
Seeing as there is brownlow and Coleman medals will there be such things as an Anzac day medal or a Ross glendenning medal things like that.

Also will there be mid season cups such as Collingwood v bulldogs playing for the bob rose cup
Or stkilda and hawthorn playing for the blue ribbon cup and so on.

720p. Pretty much all games run on it. Can't recall a game that is 1080.. anyone know?
There's plenty out there.

Gran Turismo 5, Wipeout HD are two of the bigger exponents. I believe Bioshock does too actually.

Quite a lot of PSN/XBLA titles would too.

I think there's a few sports titles that have at one stage been 1080p too.

AFL Live I'd say is 99% assuredly 720p however. But in saying that, some of the best looking games run at that. LBP2, Uncharted 2, God of War 3, Dead Space 2, Killzone 3. All run at 720p, all amongst the best looking titles on consoles.
Is one of the reasons why the game has no official release date yet because of the Richmond sponsorship that has just been announced tonight?

Or does that have no impact on the release date at all? and if it does not thats fair enough ( I am not interested in other reasons why etc) just was wondering whether the sponsorship had/has any bearing on it
Jeep won't be there. It's just too late in development for them to have put it in (was the first question I asked when the BigFooty guys went in:p).

Yeh i knew GT was. I have seen a few games that have '1080p' on the back of the box, but upon research some have been upscaled. I meant native 1080p

I haven't seen a sports game that is full HD. All EA sports seem to be 720, not sure about 2k. But meh, who cares, the difference isn't much...

Top post. Would read again.

Most 360 and PS3 games run native at 720p, some even under it.

I was wondering, if the game doesn't do it for us (I'm assuming it won't), can we alter the level of crowd noise ourselves depending on the game?

Like, could I make it almost nil for Port vs North or put it at max for a Collingwood v Essendon game at the 'G or the grand final?

Yeah, supposedly the sound settings are changeable. So if you want a complete stadium experience, drop the commentary (a lot may do this, just because they don't like the commentary) and jack the SFX stuff straight up. :)

As far as I am aware, no full console games run at full 1080p. They are just 760upscaled. The only true 1080p games are arcade ones. I'm pretty sure this is th case. I play NBA 2k11 on my 32 inch tv on PC at 1080p with all graphics maxed out. I also own it on 360. The pc version looks 10 times better. I wonder Ross if the AFL game will look significantly better on pc? Not that it doesn't look good already of course but the 360 and ps3 are running on somewhat antiquated technology.

When games start running on 1080p you will notice the difference but in saying that the consoles are getting abit old in the tooth so you will prob see more in the next batch of consoles.
I cant wait till more come out in 1080 look sweet on the 100" screen!!!!
I think AFL live will be an awesome nite with mates on the big screen, throw in some jacks and its all on.

GAME really don't have anywhere near the pull that EB has. So they get left with the rubbish. I think even JB would get preferential treatment over GAME. they really are a very average company with a poor business model set up

Even so, And I'm only quoting my Adelaide stores here, And I'm sure your store is much better Glenno, But in Adelaide, Game absalutely $^&# all over EB, EB is so bad here we where talking about it in a different forum, and they're frowned apon, we feel cheap walking into them, the people who work there are pigs who pretty much tell us to F off, They never bend the smallest rules etc etc... Nothing but a disgrace, is at least 2 EBGames I've been to in Adelaide.

Game on the other hand have the absalute best people working there, There prices usually beat yours by at least $10-$20, And the stores are set up WAY better and they seem to sell and stock a lot more stuff as well.

Whenever It's possible, I always go to GAME before EB, And before I go to Game I always usually check out JB Before them! haha.

Lately though I buy all my games from OzGameShop, Price poops all over our Australian stores.

Is your view on Game's company state to state? As I find your view on game the exact pick of how I "And SO MANY OTHERS' In adelaide feel about EB!

I promised if you told me the pre order bonus I'll buy from EB though, And I did.. Still think it's ironic someone from EBGames of all places saying Game has a bad buisness model and are an average company when they absalutely drown EB in my area.

P.S - Sorry about off topic, But if he can have small views on Game, I can have mine on EB. If this gets removed, I would hope his does for being off topic as well hah.

P.P.S. - I also thank you for your Answers and telling us the pre order stuff glen, This is no disrespect to you, Just your company, Which I find is appauling compared to Game, And like I said, I'm def not the only one in Adelaide who feel this way, your staff down here seem like they're straight from the troth, Oink Oink.

EB's prices are higher then other retailers (JB, Kmart, Target etc) because they soley have to make money off games. When a new game comes on sale at the retailers I just mentioned, they actually don't gain any, or much, profit. In some cases they actually lose money, whereas EB have to gain. That's why they make deals at little cost to them (in this case, the AFL photos) so people have an incentive to pay them the full price for the game.

I dont agree with that, if that was the case then under no circumstance would EB staff be allowed to price match any of the other stores. Price matching would just cut into the profit margin.

in the FAQ it says there will be a PC version. any more word on this? will it be the same release date? min specs?

Lol.

*Waits for the offended*

Edit: I see you read the FAQ so I'll answer it. There is a PC version. 6 or so months after the console release. No min specs have been provided to my knowledge.

I think thats the 10th time in PART 14 that I've seen this question.

This is in the wrong place but I thought I better put it here. The places previews of the game that will definitely have Big Ant Studios in attendance are:

EB Games
Northland Saturday, 19 March 2011 (Andy)
Swanston St Thursday, 24 March 2011 (Ross & Andy)
Southland Sunday, 27 March 2011 (Ross)
Werribee Saturday, 2 April 2011 (TBA)
Fountain Gate Saturday, 9 April 2011 (TBA)
and now Franktston Sunday 20 March (Ross)

BTW: Inside Football has a preview of AFL Live in this weeks' edition, http://www.insidefootballonline.com/

can you get Perth dates?????? please!!!!!!! i wanna play!!!!!!!!!!

Just sent an email this morning to David from HES/TRU BLU regarding why they have not announced an a release date yet as April is not to far away check out his response below

Hi,

The reason we have not announced an official date is because we don't
know what that date will be. The game is going through approvals. Once
everything is approved we can then announce the date.

PS - The approvals I talk about are with Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo.

Makes me worried about an April release if the game is still going through approval
