I usually beat teams on Legendary by 30 odd points, but at the moment I'm playing 10 min quarters as Carlton against Sydney in the wet at the SCG. At the half way mark of the second quarter, the score is:

Syd 8.1.49
Carl 0.4.4

EDIT - Just took a screamer with Bryce Gibbs, then had a shot and put it on the friggin' full.

Have to say using my created GWS last night opened up a massive new experience of difficulty. My players are so shit. I lost my first match against the Tiges by about 5 goals, then the next to GCS by 10. Then I managed to get a 4 goal win against them with some back and forth footy for all but the last quarter of the match. Was a fantastic game and is now a real struggle to win not only the footy but the match.

Don't know why, but my ability to punch the ball has disappeared... I used to be able to clear the ball from behind on the run, now the only successful spoils have been marking contests where both players are standing still.

Couldn't believe that I kicked a few that quarter. Waite and Garlett kicked two apiece, surprisingly all four of those came from marks over the back of packs in or near the goal square. The other goal came from Murphy on the run from about 40m out.

Can't wait for the patch and the jostling for a mark. Nothing frustrates me more than seeing Waite get outbodied because the AI can do something I can't.

Observation from playing online. How you can pair up a person playing by themselves against a team of 4 human players is beyond a joke. You literally cant move because 3 people are just blocking your players and your AI team mates run away from the ball when its kicked near them but run to the man everytime they have the ball freeing up there players. Either improve the AI to balance out the obvious disadvantage or make it so players with 2 or more cant be match with single players.

how many minute quarters are everyone playing?
i just got my game yesterday.. is it the norm that the ruckman dominates the game?

using collingwood, D.Jolly scored 11 goals and had 51 touches in 10 minute quarters (veteran level)....

I only play 3 minute quarters, gives me a better opportunity to have more games per hour and more games per day. I find that the game's may have 12 minutes of "game time", but they generally last 18 - 25 minutes for one reason or another.

We currently do not determine how many palyers are in the game before matching, we couldn't be sure of the mix of multiplayers/single players - now we know there are enough of each and so will search for single payers to match single players first (this is in the patch).

Correct, however i have also paused the game a bit in the majority of games i have played, therefore adding on additional time. Most of it is spent, re-reading the the manual (might not be as deep as NBA 2K11.... i still find it confusing), particularly when i am pressing a button to do something and it isn't happening.

Adding on to that though, the stoppage time i have in terms of waiting for the game to resume after a goal..... most of it is ball up after ball up, after being tackled . Resuming play after a goal is merely a few measly seconds.

I also have this problem in Madden games, i don't always go for realism (i will when playing online), even a 2 minute per quarter game (thus 8 minutes) can last 20 - 30+ minutes , it is crazy. I often play 1 minute quarters, just to get through it faster.

NBA 2K11 is one that pretty much stays on time due to how fast the play happens.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I've gone through a whole season on Legendary, 20 min quarters, Extreme injuries and I've just got the Grand Final left. I went through undefeated, apart from Richmond and Melbourne for some odd reason. I had beat the Hawks by 30 goals and then I get owned by Richmond by over 100 points, doubleing my score. I couldn't get any where near them, they always had a free player and there wasn't anything I could do about it, as I can only control 1 player at a time where the AI seem to be able to do what they want. Which is just so frustrating becuase no matter how good I played it wouldn't matter.

It just weird how the AI trips out and just becomes unstoppable sometimes and then the next game you can win so easily. Oh well as soon as PSN is back up I won't have to worry about it again.

I have had the same problem with the difficulty of the games being completely random, I am not sure if it is due to momentum being overpowered or something else.

Okay is there someway to check your last couple of matchs for results? because for some reason when i came on today my winstreak of 49 was gone and now i've got my 4th forfeit. I haven't quit any games for ages and all the matchs lately i've been dominating in and the opposition quit.

the only thing i can think of is this is a bug, because right before i started playing online today i went to competitive training to see if i was ready to go online and keep winning, so i kicked 3 goals in the training exercise and thought yep i'm ready and quit the training game thing. but a warning came up when i quit, i didn't read it because i was eager to go online, sooo do you get a forfeit online for quitting competitive training?

Onto my second season now on Pro difficulty, I'm really enjoying it.

I did have a few freezes in season mode in the later rounds but I got through it in the end and I also lost one of my interchange players too

Some feedback, my inital findings on game.

I must say game in challeneging, but rucking has been made extermeley hard, why not have the timing bar, especially on rookie mode

Why is there not a camera view that when you mark the ball say from a kick in, you can see down field, well yes there is, but we need a view that swaps from side by side broadcast to then down ground and back again.
If there is, I cannot find it.

I would of like more stats info at the breaks or even during the game, not just highest ball gettings, but somehow to see how each of your players are going.

Zoeing could be imporved, even if I set my team to defence mode, stil don't see like one does in real life 30 plus players in one half of ground.


I think I must be real Cats from last year, stats at 3/4 time of my first game 61 HB to 66 kicks, what, I don't think I have kicked it that many times.
I'm having real trouble kicking and sprinting, as I read manual it is either Tap X or hold R2 and tap X, is this right.

Anyway I keep at it, when Sony ever gets their network up again, is there a patch? What is patch for? Also on what is maybe a non AFL Live question, but where does one get the 3D patch for PS3, is that a download again from Sony?

Anyway on summary to Big Ant, well done for your first go.

I've played every AFL game since 98. Think I have some experiece with them to comment.

hold your ground with left stick and press green triangle get in front of your opponent, if you hold R2 at same time as Green Triangle you wil spoil.

Funny I am finding markting easier that in previous 3 versions.

It is like Ruckwork all aout timing, although it seems easier than ruckwork.
