Yeah i also had a 2 on 1 last night.

Guys tried every dirty trick in the book, blocking set shots, tackling after mark etc.

Still i was loving life when i had a comfortable 4 goal buffer despite their best efforts.

Then some absolutely terrible lag set in, which saw me unable to touch the ball for a good quarter and a half, they proceeded to kick 8 in a row.

I was furious and could never recover, felt like quitting, felt like sending them abusive messages, did neither, you wont see me stoop to their level, learn from this online afl live community.

Same thing pretty much happened to me last. They blocked every one of my set shots, and I went in to QT only a few points down. They kicked off the same tactics in the 2nd Q and I couldn't put up with their shit anymore so I quit. Unlike yourself, i'm not privvy to having to sit through dirty tactics in order to win, nor do they deserve to win based on that tactic.

If no-one can play me fairly, then I will in turn deny them the 'dirty' win to boost their stats. Knob jockeys.

Has anyone noticed that even when injuries are set to 'Extreme', it is extremely rare for one of your players to get injured?

I played an entire season on veteran with injuries set to extreme, and the only injuries I had were two players that were out for a week each. In the Grand Final, with less than 5 mins left on the clock I had a player do his hamstring and the injury signs looked different to normal, they were red and it looked really bad, he was limping etc.

Why is it that even when set to extreme, injuries rarely happen?

I'm just getting a little bored playing entire seasons with the same players. I would like the challenge of having to use some underrated players to fill in for injured players, but it aint happening!

Now I'm playing through legend with injuries set to extreme and increased the quarter length to 10 mins hoping some of my players will get injured.

One thing I noticed is that often towards the end of the game the commentators will say that players are injured when they're not, and its usually heaps of players in a short period of time. The opposition players always get injured so why don't mine?
:)

Don't even get me started on f*cking Telstra...

Our internet has cut out about three or four days into our new monthly usage for the past three months. It then goes back to normal about two weeks later, pretty much screwing up the month's usage.

They fixed it last month, they won't fix it this month.

Do u have ASDL or Cable or?

I think you find it is not just Telstra mate, I have asdl2 Telstra for our home business, but where my brotehr is he cannot get asdl, let alone asdl2 from anyone, Heidelberg I'm told by people of forums otehr than here is a asdll black spot, one of worse in Country, our IT guy who helps be maintain our company server agrees,

I got myself a Wif FI Dongle for PS3 etc off Ebay for under $20 does the job.
Although one does have to have reliable internet and as I said depends where one is. NBN anyone?:D

Telstra own the infrastructure. It's all Telstra's fault for black spots, for RIMS and pair gain.

I'm pretty sure we're ADSL.

Sounds to me like you are just insanely lucky hahaha

It's a long shot I know, but is anyone experiencing more lag than usual lately? I thought it was something on my end, and it still might be, but I just did a ping test at pingtest.net and got the following results;

Packet Loss - 0%
Ping - 69
Jitter 43

My Grade - 'B' Very Good

Not sure why I'm getting lag but it's really bad at the ruck contests and in general play. I have the ball and stream into the forward line, then all of a sudden he has the ball and I'm running the wrong way. Sometimes my guy isn't even jumping in the ruck. Even got disconnected from 2 games (when I was winning too).

Keep in mind I haven't had any problems before this in my 180 odd online games. Will have to call Telstra tomorrow....Can't be bothered tonight.

Edit: Seems to be better for now. Only a bit of lag here and there...Still not ideal.

Your lag didn't seem too bad just then.:mad:

Some things you can try:
-Run a traceroute to google next time its slow for you, if the latency is appearing in the first hop its usually due to overutilisation or your copper line.
-Obtain the line stats from your modem, should help you determine the quality of your copper and if theres a possible line fault.

Usually only business grade products have any type of SLA for latency so its unlikely anyone at BigPond will care about you unless your having major issues with browsing etc. Also as you are on Telstras network they are unlikely to be having congestion issues, although they do have the odd exchange with backhaul congestion.

Lol, didn't even know I played you tonight vapours.

Cheers for the advice, will do that because it's bound to happen again. I had no problems after I posted that post tonight so I made up for last nights lack of AFL Live by playing for almost 4 hours tonight :thumbsu: Unfortubnately, I have to get up for work in 5 hours  This game is slowly killing me through lack of sleep.

Regained some form tonight and didn't lose a single game, including 2 absolute rippers with HBK ;). Hopefully he posts some details on them....I gotsta sleep!

Hah I wasn't taking you seriously until you were 4 goals up to nothing and I realised it was you after you performed a few stab passes. Was a bit late then to start playing properly, although I think I got within 2 goals in the final quarter.

So the lag issues were felt by all?
I thought it was weird coz I went to speedtest.net to check my internet speeds, and it came up faster than my usual. (12MB/s download).
Will have another go again soon.

Ok, so explain this to me: 896XP. That is all I get after someone quit with a couple of seconds left in the 4th, I had come from behind to win, and I had a lower ranked side (Melb vs St.K).

Is it the margin that determines the XP? I'm seriously disappointed with getting so little for my efforts (guy was going over the mark to block my shots, too).

Your download speed can sometimes be irrelevant. Latency is the problem, in gaming latency is everything. Telstra does not really give a damn on how laggy your connection is.

If you're on ADSL2+ ask your ISP to remove interleaving. Interleaving stabilises the ADSL connection helps with noisy lines etc, but the massive downside is the big increase in latency.

thats heaps man.

I get about 200XP even if i smash teams.

id imagine it has to do with me quitting so many games against cheaters and multi-players and my reliabilty sitting on 0.

Even tho Ive 'played' over 300 games with a +97 win record.

Heh. You're really on 0? Wow.

I usually get around 1500 to 2000+ XP for wins. Reliability is 92.

Well these last few posts explain everything.

I was wondering why there were people ahead of me in the Leaderboard who had played/won 50% less games than me. Its because of this stupid bug thinking Im 0% reliable!

cheaters: people who run over the mark on set shots.

multiplayers are cheaters when they constantly bump off the ball and set up players around a ruck contest. its an advantage that a single player cant have,so i see it as poor form.

id also say custom teams, but i rarely play against them as they bump specific crucial stats. i beat most that i played, but its not enjoyable.

if there was some kind of filter and the patch wasn't needed, this game would be great!
