To then suddenly take that all away because some kids are pissed off they aren't high enough would be wrong. I have played almost all of the top ten. Only one (Brakko) Kes shot blocker but he is rubbish anyway. The rest use normal teams. Only now are custom teams not only common but almost a necessity.

They arent taking it away, they are resetting it :S

Just chucked this into the Bug reporting thread....and what I believe the issue to be.

You can, it's just a far more subtle process than I think anyone was thinking it'd be. It's also not something that's easy to pull off either.

But I have shepherded a few goals through in my time post patch.

OK obviously I am not doing it right. Do you try bump them out of the contest or is there another way? Let me know how you've managed to do it, thanks.

opponent: big guns macgee

I have since played a couple of games online and it has worked. Maybe his custom team was bugged.

It's just about getting the right timing really. As I said, it's not easy.

All you do is in the marking contest flick the right stick (without holding anything else) and hope that it'll work. It's no exact science.

Against the AI I'd probably put your chances at pulling it off being a little lower as I've done it against real people who for whatever reasons may not hit a button to counter my bump.

Played about 10 games today, been getting the hang of it, only lost 1 game, to a better player.

I think taking a big break from it and completing another entirely different game, then coming back to it has helped in my re-learning.

I feel no love for the custom teams though, and Ive resorted to using one.

That's the same as what I did.... Didn't play it for a bit, and came back with an open mind about how to play.... it's worked wonders.
 
i think its funny how you beat these guys online wif there custom teams and you have a normal afl team then they brand you a cheat, then they ask for a rematch so i use my custom team against there custom team and call me a cheat again cos my custom team is better then theres really annoying the shite outta me

Yeh mate i versed him in my first game pre patch and it got the black screen as well. Was it him?
 
What I wanna know is there momentum shifts of massive proportions in the last quarter? Three times in a row now I've being a comfortable 3-4 goals ahead and pretty much owning, they get a goal back and all of a sudden they're invincible! Or am I just being a sore loser? :p

A little like the "real" game, you need to change the tempo of the game, string a few passes together, etc.. and you will break their momentum.

Good teams set the pace and dictate the way it will be played.
