Interesting that Sandgate have to play 8 of 16 games against top 5 sides this year, while Grange play 5 of 16. I think the others play 6 or 7 of their 16 against the other final teams. Makes a fair bit of difference in a short season.
Geez there is a lot of whingeing about the draw from some at Lemke rd....banking up the hard luck stories already!!.. The draw is fair enough as with 11 teams and byes it was always going to be uneven, not sure what the league was sposed to do?!?. Grange finished 7th last year (4th bottom!) and got beaten by Mayne in the last round in both reserves and seniors, so fairly reasonable to expect that they wouldn't get the same draw as the team that nearly won the senior GF and won the reserves!!
Not whingeing Travolta, and not preparing an excuse for the hawks either! Just pointing out a fact. Think that playing against better sides more often might hold them in good shape come finals if they can hold on to double chance. Plus seeing the good sides twice might be an advantage knowing what to expect etc.
Are you suggesting Grange "tanked" last game to ensure easier draw? lol
Hopefully next year the league goes back to 10 teams and everyone can play twice.

Given they were premiers last year thats a compliment id think. You cant say enough about local rivalry. The Roos got flogged in soggy conditions by the Tigers last round. This time around they were all playing in a kids swimming pool. And to the credit of the Roos and to the delight of both supporters, they dug down, had a dip and pushed the premiers right till the end. Coaches were not to blame or be thanked, it was just a good old fassioned hard wet contest. Its was great for the Roos players and fans as well as the Tigers. They have been flogging teams the last month and were pushed. Bottom team or not, it i think it just came down to a bit more class and maybe a home game that got the Tigers up but either way both teams were great. A bit of niggle, a bit of blood, some abuse from both sides from the side lines, all in all a great local derby.

Strange post and even stranger spelling.Top effort by both sides in appalling conditions.A shame there weren`t more people there to witness a good hard fought local derby. The tigers have a team full of quality players and in your words the Roos had a side made up of 2s players at best. In what appeared to be very wet conditions it takes a good coach to motive their players.
The Roos were obviously more stimulated by their coach and turned up to play.
The Tigers seam to be a team full of champions.
What's wrong with his spelling? Especially when you use ` instead of ' in weren't.Strange post and even stranger spelling.Top effort by both sides in appalling conditions.A shame there weren`t more people there to witness a good hard fought local derby.
Can`t see where you are correcting me Tiger. My use of weren`t instead of were not is correct punctuation in the English language. However knowing you are from Mayne who continue to shine in the best dressed department,I`m probably out of my league with regard to who`s the better educated.Maybe the brains of the Mayne tigers are superior to the Noosa tigers. Not much doubt though on who has the bigger heart! What's wrong with his spelling? Don't know what our clubs have anything to do with this argument, just cheap shotting someone by trashing their club,. It was a dig at you not Noosa, who are no doubt are a great club, full of intelligent people. Just come on here and make your point, instead of criticising someone's spelling, just maybe not everyone is intelligent like you.
This is a footy forum agree, but old rooster is on here doing nothing but bagging my club and senior coach so thought i`d point out the obvious.I`m not here to sling cheap shots at clubs but if you want to side with old rooster,be carefull because your club is in a very vulnerable position for cheap shots and most posts regarding it have been respectfull thus far.Don't know what our clubs have anything to do with this argument, just cheap shotting someone by trashing their club,. Ooh,bit touchy there old rooster.I would like to see a coach motive their players. Not sure about Fletchs spelling but pretty sure he could find the footy.Just surprised by your original post stressing that Maroochys coach was a better coach cause he could motive his players, whatever that means.Noosa are motivated, just talk to the players. As i said earlier roos put in a great effort which often happens in rivalry games regardless of ladder position. The fletch thing is really wearing thin old rooster, especially as tigers keep winning.I`d be keeping quiet and anonymous. There must be trouble in paradise Noosa boy. Your only come back is to do with education. I never knew spelling helped you get the footy.
Is that why your coach ends every sentence with OK?
Cos he can spell it.
No it's not, it's just your small minded attitude. Be a Man and trash me personally not my club, the club I follow has nothing to do with this argument. You are the one who is questioning ones intelligence to insult, yes, question his opinion but do it with some class. This is a footy forum agree, but old rooster is on here doing nothing but bagging my club and senior coach so thought i`d point out the obvious.I`m not here to sling cheap shots at clubs but if you want to side with old rooster,be carefull because your club is in a very vulnerable position for cheap shots and most posts regarding it have been respectfull thus far.

From what i have noticed Cooly have been affected by the major State league teams particually Southport whereby their top young players and players in their prime have ended up.They were indeed a powerhouse in the Brett Andrews and Mark roberts coached days having played in 4 GFs in a row from 2000-2003 winning 2.Within a matter of 2 or 3 years they lost the Lynch boys,Hawkins and another ex state player whose name escapes me to Southport which really hurt them. And whilst Smith and hawkins have carried them over the past few years, they are really young and developing. The PNG boys are a breath of fresh air to watch so hopefully on the right track.A lack of trade work on the Goldy wouldn`t make recruiting any easier either at present.Always seems to be plenty of bickering on this board, not sure if its healthy banter between members of local rivalries or not, but... ive got a question that could lead to some discussion.
What does Coolangatta have to do to move from the bottom of the ladder. They've been there for an unhealthy period of time now, Ive been told that in the past (im talking early '00s, 90s... maybe one for some of the older blokes?) they were a powerhouse.
From what you guys have seen what areas on field or off field do they need to improve in?
Feel free to incorporate the state of other clubs and how they have improved in the past... whether it be bringing through youngsters from the junior ranks, increased funding or just the good timing of accumulating some decent footballers.
Is that finials or finals? Thanks for the well wishes. No armchair critic here old rooster just don`t criticise people who are enjoying success.Doesn`t look rightI really don't know what your on about Noosa Boy. Everything I said you have either agreed with or got defensive about it. Therefore it must be ringing true. You must be another one of those armchair critics that can see only through one eye. You have probably never even played the game. Too busy reading books then sunbaking on the Noosa beach.
Like others on this fourm I have only stated my opinion on what I have seen and heard. If it upsets you bad luck, I don't care how thin it wearing. Looking back at some previous posts some people seem to hold the same opinion as me and they are from your club.
Good luck in the finials I hope your team of champions can do it again. Even though I think they will get out coached and played come September. IMO
Ps can you spell check this for me?
Its between me and old rooster tiger. You probably butted in at the wrong time as we have an ongoing thing and i`m pretty sure i know him pretty well. Please do not tell me what to do,I am of very average intelligence so will not listen anyway. My football tip for 2011; Magpies v Noosa Grand finalNo it's not, it's just your small minded attitude.
