good points, why play the qafl 2nd highest goalkicker down back he was always going to go ok down there but goals win games... i thought the prospect of eagle, fulton, emery and young boston would have been a tough assignment for any backline.

Well said Speedy Unit. Fults has Broadbeach in his blood.Yes hes 35 now , but is still more then capable at this level, and his experience is a god send for the youth at the club on game day.I watched nearly all of Broadbeachs games this season and this guy is still a very valuable player. And as a sponsor for the club with his business, geez, the coaching heirachy need to get their decisions in the correct manner.Lets just say, if I was Fults, after all he has done for the club..... I would be insulted and devestated by this treatment .

Since when does throwing money into a football club give you certain playing advantages over others Stuyd??? Thats a ridiculous comment. I would stick to arguing about his merits as a footballer purely bc this is all that should count in any coaches mind.
If he was so committed to the Broadbeach cause then why was it such a massive deal to pull on the jumper for a 2's game?? Peter Knights and Gary Buckenara played in a 2's GF, since when is Corey Fulton beneath this??

Mitch Ferguson to coach Mayne in 2012 and Luke Fualkner to solely concentrate on playing footy for the Tiges!

Have they picked up any players? otherwise its just shuffling the deck chairs on the titanic, all due respect to these 2 blokes who are good coaches in their own right they need to pick up a couple of quality players to bring through what they have...

I haven't heard about any recruits, bit harsh with the titanic comment speedy. Their is a bit of a positive vibe around Tigerland for the future, sure they will recvruit some players and with Luke solely concentrating on playing will be a graet contribution. I have a tonne of faith in the club and disregarding the negativity from the usual suspects on this forum, i am very positive the Tigers will improve. GO MAYNE!

Interesting to see if Luke Ferguson, Caleb Brown and Tom Falconer return. Those three would help them improve a bit. Be amazing if they did go back, considering the last two were both good contributors at NEAFL level.

i didnt mean as a negative comment as i am and have been an admirer of the mayne footy club for a long time, what i was saying it doesnt matter who coaches they need a couple of top end players to push the top sides

Ok my apologies speedy, you are right they do need some good recruits and sure they are in hunt for some. Look they didn't win a game last year , but they showed so much heart and effort were abit unlucky not to win a few. They are had a number of young homegrown talent that showed promising signs for the future. Very proud of everyone involved with Mayne footy club for their undying efforts to help the club improve!:thumbsu:

Surfers looking to make some changes. Think they've got Haberfield from Southport and one of the Rolfe brothers from Broadbeach.

Haberfield was one of the initial GC17 signings with Stanlake, Lock, Thompson I'm pretty sure. Clearly didn't excel in that environment but I've got no doubt he's a skilled player and will likely tear PHC up.

You will need to do better than that Damo! Why will Surfers be the team to beat? Who have they recruited? They were 10 goals off the best last year. While your going, who has the cagey Marrto bought to Grange?

they have a quality side as it is. their midfield is very strong they need to just add a forward and will be a good side. if you saw any of them play last year you would have seen a good side play. just look at the post above and they might have picked up featherstone as well. i wouldn't have a clue who they have picked up at grange.
they don't ring me to tell me who they have signed

Featherstone staying at Lab! Agree speedy they were 10 goals off best teams. Granted they did beat noosa, won 8 off last 10 great effort but will need more than Rolfe and Haberfield to be the team to beat! Not much out of Salk oval unfortuantly, only rumor and innuendo. Not sure if it quiet on recruiting front from all clubs or are we seeing some good poker faces?

The Goriilas may have picked Wayne Brittain up as assistant coach to Marto. If so, that would give a bit of a clue as to what players have signed and why.

I hear Jake Ryan putting $500 up that Surfers will win the premiership next year? He's got to be winding the palmy boys up with that early prediction, or is somthing special really going on at SP?
They did come home well, but lets be honest, lost to PBC twice, just got over the line against Noosa, Who only woke up half way through the 2nd Quarter! I think Noosa Spanked them at home by 12 odd goals later in the season, that game SP couldnt get the ball past Noosa Zone! Lost to Cooly also.
They did have the edge over Grange but look at how well grange did in the finals.
C'mon Jake save your money for Christmas..........

With Jake making big statements, I wonder if we will see a resurgence of "FlowerPower" on Bigfooty??

did they beat the maggies last year?

$500? Would be getting 10/1 at the moment. May know something the rest of us dont! May not be a bad bet, have recruited well and if the rumor true have got Fulton also. Not sure he is winding the Palmy boys up, pretty sure if I were Noosa or any of the other 4 sides to finish i n front of them I would be a little bit iffy. Good luck to them and I am sure he will be reminded about it during the season so!!!!!! Maybe someone should tell him it's only November!!!!

Maroochydore finally have some positive news coming out of a preseason. Senior coach plus 2 senior assistants, reserves coach (courtesy of Caloundra) and third division coach and assistant all onboard and in full preseason/planning.

40 at Tuesday night training/social touch last night, 35 last week. Thursday have been a write off due to weather.

Having the coaches sorted early has given the opportunity to go hunting for players. Couple of good recruit signed for 2012 last night. Jed Turner (Redland Bombers Ruckman), Leighton Cooper (ex WAFL, played a handful of games last year before moving back to WA for work) and Sean Fletcher all signed on.

Hopefully 2012 will see continued development and improvement in a young side, and the reserves running out with more than 14 for away games.

Sounds like a promising start for the roo boys! Would like to see them do well this year. Cant say any of there recruits ring a bell! But good to see large numbers to training. Had you lost any more players from this year ?
