I can understand why Carlton is fav. Good form, not missing as many players as freo. As good as Ross's game plan you cant do much if you are missing your 2 best forwards (I think Walter and mayne is better than ballentyne but he is a good forward) and your best defender. Waite also a chance to play this week.
But I agree that essendon should be 1.75 not 2.05

Bookies have made a big mistake starting Essendon as $2.05 dogs. They will have far too much pace, big ins including Watson (maybe) and Fletcher. Collingwood have been playing very poorly. Maybe the bet of the year?

My only thought would be the bookies have taken into account all the drama with the bombers this week, and some how it will affect their onfield performance. But this investigation has been happening all year and they have been playing great anyway.

If I am not mistaken the report is due early next week. The Dons performance on Friday was reflective of them playing arguably the Number 1 team as opposed to playing badly. If they choked against a bottom 8 Club I could understand the odds.

Dons worth a bet but you wouldnt want to go big on it, similarly the GWS are worth a bet as well. Remember they were up by about 3-4 goals I think at 3/4 time at the G against the Demons and were up at HT against the Pies last week.

The Blues are back at the Dome and them winning 1-39 is a good bet against the "boring" suffocating Dockers.

Port should win the Showdown, but you would think the Crows will come out swinging like Ricciuto of the old days. This game could be settled at the Ramsgate Hotel hours later.

West Coast v Gold Coast will be interesting. The squad picked will be a strong indication of who to back. Because both have almost zero chance of playing in September, the home side should win, but Im not game to place them in any multi.

The rest of the favorites pick themselves.

GWS can't run out a game. Melbourne may be ****ing abysmal but at least they maintain their level of abysmality (hah, new word!) across a whole game.

GWS/Melb HT/FT would be worth a look.

Shite, that's paying $7.80 - I'm on for a few shekels.

This is a bit of a pet bet of mine but North are playing 2.15 to win the first quarter.

They've won 14/17. Geelong has won 8/17 (2 draws).
My one and only bet on North to win the first quarter and I got burned in the North v Carlton game by 1 point!!! :(
