Leuenberger's skills are terrible. Wlid gumby handball into three Geelong players...goal Geelong.

Can't wait for Charman to returm.

Brown shanked a kick or two as well. Should he be dropped?

And could you please point us to footage of Charman's exquisite skills?

I thought Leuie was one of the few on the ground that outpointed his opponent tonight and is coming along nicely.

I guess you can scrape together a couple of positives.......Nup not really. Piss poor effort even with the injury list.

What is with people taking to Staker like a loose propeller. There are plenty of others I would be pointing the stick before Staker. Start in the midfield and work your way up the ground.

bite your arse blue balls !

what is going on ?? the side looks dispirited. very poor bloody disgracefull to be exact. its rock bottom boys only way is up from here

It's as though they're exhausted before they even start. Is the ground some what to blame? They say if you play two games in a row at ES you're buggered for the next game as it's a hard surface.

*sigh* Looked like the men against the boys again. Redden, Rich, Rockliff, Banfield can get brushed off too easily but so do Staker, Rischitelli and some of the older guys.

Brisbane's average age: 24 yrs 146 days.
Geelong's average age: 26 yrs 200 days.

It showed tonight.

Many suspected the Lions were going down the wrong path in choosing the likes of Raines and Staker and now the fans have to live with these decisions as there is no turning back. Interesting to view the change in opinion on Henderson now that he has departed your club.

Have you seen him play at all this year? Can't even take an uncontested mark.

Stop feeding the troll.

Really liked Polkers' game. Was a bit worried when I saw him lining up in the middle but it proved to be a solid move. Why did Austin get a reprieve? Better not happen again; he's rubbish.

Not a whole lot our backs could do considering the quality of the Cats delivery. Perhaps our guys should take note of the Cats' usage of the handball; yes, they seemingly 'overuse' the handball, but it's almost always to create space or draw a player, not to give it to a guy with three defenders bearing down on them and resulting in a turnover.

Well, that was a really comprehensive lesson on how to play AFL wasnt it?

The Cats ran harder and faster, wanted the ball more, didn't squander possession with stupid dinky little handballs and woeful kicking both to a target and at goal, they applied sustained pressure and they backed up and backed up and backed up.

I'm glad Geelong brought a near full strength side this year after the pathetic excuse for a team they sent up last season - it shows our guys just how much improvement is needed for the Lions to become a serious contender.

The players and coaching staff should be grossly disappointed with that effort, just as club supporters are.

Keeping Bradshaw, who this season has made eqaul if not more contribution to his team than Fevola has, would have been a much better option. There is no evidence to suggest that you are a better team with Fevola instead of Bradshaw.

You're right. Bradshaw played a blinder today. :thumbsu:

Oh wait...that's right...he didn't play, as his body is packing it in.

Glad our club was responsible enough to not give him the 3 year contract he was demanding. Best of luck to Sydney getting him to play that out.

Why is it when we get belted, we have squibs from all over the shop come in and troll? Still smarting after being smashed for years back in the day? Get over it fellas, move on and get a life :)

As for tonight - meh, it happens. That's footy - sometimes you get pantsed by a better side. Hopefully the guys can learn from a team who dominated them tonight and be better for it. Yes there were alot of negatives, but I'll take the philosophical approach and not get bent out of shape over it.

What we DO need is a win :D

What's with the lack of moderation? If we went onto the Carlton board and acting like dumbshits we'd be red carded in 2.4 seconds. Hit these pricks hard.
We get the same on our board after every game l_d, and it annoys the shit outta me too. But if you went on the Port board and said the same things, enjoy a 1 week holiday from BF. Enjoy a nice confident booster next week guys, we will be lucky to get within 6 goals.

It is nice to be back. The red card was attrocious! Not unlike umpire Nicholls!

I have been fortunate enough to see the last 2 games live and i haven't been worried about either loss to Freo or Geelong. Logic points to the fact that at the moment we are on toast when it comes to trying to beat quality opposition.

Obviously that makes our terrible efforts against Melbourne and Sydney even more costly.

My biggest concern when seeing us play live is Fevola. He plays like a small forward. He is dead lazy on the lead, he plays like an under 12 and just leads when the ball heads towards his areas. The best full forwards work their opponent over before the ball gets into their leading zone. He isn't good enough one on one to take wrestling marks but is obviously gifted off the ground. Betts would have cost us less

But one must not express outrage at ones club when it loses must win games otherwise one is deemed to be anti club and then deemed anti bigfooty.

Can't wait to here your views Grim!

There is a lot of big statements flying around here. I agree that we won't make the finals but I have seen enough to think we are on the right track. This year was always going to be a shambles dragging in so many different styles and opinions from the other clubs. If they stick with it even if we end up with 8 wins for the season I think we will be much better off next year.

Carlton on the other hand have no future whatsoever. I wonder how long it will take them to realise setanta and his little helpers are not going to get them over the line in any finals games. You have a midfield of 3 plus one ugly ruckmen and really nothing much else to mention.

The bulldogs will fail this year like they have every other year and lose half their team to retirement. When you take eagleton, aker, johnson, hall & hudson out (none of these guys will play next year) with another 2 years on Gilbee, Hahn, Boyd, Hargrave, Lake, Morris, Cross & Murphy not even cooney and griffen can save you. Johnson is so old and worthless his probably only got one game left in him.

We will be beaten like a rented mule.
.

Just as expected. Though I was only hoping for 10 goals....

Probably the most points we have conceded in 4 straight weeks ever. We need a game against a rubbish team. When do we play ourselves?

Nothing wrong with our loss tonight, we were up against in, we tried but were destroyed by one of the best 5 teams in the history of the game.

We should flood. There, I said it. Whenever the opposition get the ball and go forward they've got one on one's in plenty of space (and sometimes by themselves ), and when we go forward the forward line is packed.

Disgusting post, we are injury plagued, what do you expect! I thought we were every chance to be beaten by 100 points tonight. Let's hope the boys learnt a lot about how to be an elite team.

Keep it for the bay. Staker was one of the better players tonight. Find another target.
.

Played all over the ground and did really well.I agree , leave the poor bloke alone, plenty worse than him tonight.
I hate to say it but cats are nearly as good as we were in our glory years.
They play brilliant footy.I would hate to be Vossy this week, and no good news on the injury front. Good news about Ash though, I didnt even see him come back on to be honest. It wasn't one of the better nights to be at the gabba:eek:

Recruiting players who cannot dispose of the ball effectively is a terrible decision, i say it in hindsight but unlike M.Voss my job doesn't pay me 1 million a year. He should have known better!
