Auskick are sitting in M28 for finals so have to cross over to get to their changerooms. Easy to slip in if you are that desperate
They're always M28.

They go down to the changerooms
Down the stairs next to the TAB and go down through stairs at the demons shop between the Bunton and Barassi

M27 is the last bay of the AFL reserve. Next to the race. M28 is the other side of the crossover.

Fri night they lined up behind M28 and crossed through the gate and then down the stairs to their changerooms. Normally they are in M27 and go down the stairs between M27 and M26 and between the Barassi/Brunton bar.

Seems they've given up. It's essentially General Admission going forward I would expect.
Went along with a friend last night who bought public tickets and we entered into gate 7 straight into the reserve, seats were in Q28. Since when are the public allowed to buy into the afl reserve? Heads would roll if this was MCC

From what I've seen, it's now a general admission stand. I am now regretting choosing AFL members over MCC.

Sure, it's great for finals, but during the year is extremely painful for watching games

I think the AFL has been doing this for finals for a while with Q28. Which does not mean I agree with it. See this old thread
Roast - 2019 Finals Ticket Price 'Freeze' a Scam which shows the seating plans in 2018 and 2019 finals.
I signed up for AFL membership for a reason. Not only are they giving our seats to corporates, Medallion Club and others, but now also the General Public.

Since always, any fully ticketed game the AFL reserve is basically up for grabs from what I can tell.

It's not really. They just don't bother stopping others walk through when it is sold out. I guess it would be interesting to know what happens this afternoon. Hopefully someone going will update here.
When you say you chose AFL over MCC, what exactly did you give up? I would choose MCC over AFL and currently have both - silly I know, but I should get Gold AFL in the next 5 years but I doubt I will live to see full MCC membership.

I signed up for AFL Members 20 years ago, but should have just done the MCC application at the same time. I kept putting it off and never ended up doing it.

How do we scan in to the walkup areas for the Saints v GWS game?
During the season I just go into the AFL app on my phone, click on the AFL Member menu and it lists all the games, then I just click on which one I am attending and it generates a ticket. This game isn't listed when I just looked then.
Will they add it at some point?
It was on it by about Thursday this week if I remember correctly, when I seen it this week. Will head off soon to this match via it.

AFAIK Q28 (and M28) has never been part of the AFL Reserve even though it is in the Southern Stand. N and P are though.

I went and showed this to the membership team at Gate 7 and they said it's because its a fully ticketed game whatever that means.i said that's not good enough if we aren't allowed to transfer our tickets why are you allowing the general public it's hippocritical

Once he saw I was serious he said he'd pass it onto management which I don't believe for a second.

Was the MCC open to wander in?

Nope! Both AFL Reserve entrances on level 4 were open to the public but the MCC wasn’t.

Same as Thursday night, could walk straight into AFL members on level 4, not sure about level 1.

It's not just about the seats, it's the facilities

Has the AFL reserve not always been open on Level 4? or am I just picturing things

No it's definitely been closed off in the past. Earlier this year I walked around level 4 from the Ponsford all the way round to the northern stand wing but it's definitely been closed off in previous years. What's the points closing off level 1 if level 4 is open?

Exactly. The mullet kids walk from L4 and then down.

Lots of others walk through from L4 and down to the bar on L1.

Yeah 100% agree theres no point closing L1 if L4 is open.

I just remember a couple times walking from AFL Reserve to Public reserve to see mates and the gates been opened. But then I also have seen it with a person on the gate so I guess it depends on the game?
