I'm still confused by these 'check's - if the tickets is a generic ticket (which it is based on what I got last year), how do they check? Do they scan your barcode and it tells them who the owner should be?

From what the others were saying, they only check that you are a member, and entitled to buy the ticket you have (full or silver).

Hankering to get to full membership?

Not really, I just think it's disgusting that there are silver members here, including club support silver members, who are hanging out for tickets tomorrow, and other people are openly discussing what they believe is a socially acceptable form of scalping.

It's not always scalping. I think more often than not it's helping mates out.

Fair enough you see it as wrong. I guess I'd feel the same if tickets hadn't always flowed down to the silvers.

How strange that this year ended up so popular - I rang up at 9am for a special needs booking this morning and, while I got a seat... it's certainly not particularly conducive to my special need! (and compared to what club members paid for similar seats, it certainly wasn't a particularly reasonable price!)

That was after hearing for months that silver members with club support got a great shot at seats for the last couple of years.

Still, I don't mind. I'm going to be there, that's the main thing!

Silver members have no entitlement to tickets, so we can't complain too much. The price is so high because they're charging guest price tickets. Club member prices are certainly better, but they generally get far less value out of what they pay for (often the same as AFL membership price, but only 11 games, no finals etc).

Yeah, surprising that for the last two years (Hawks vs Freo, Hawks vs Swans) that silver non-competing members have got tickets, but this year they have sold out before. I would think there would more Sydney AFL members than WCE, and other melbourne-based AFL members might be sick of the Hawks in the GF. I had decided that this year was the year i would finally go after deciding against it the last couple of years. Oh well, that will teach me...

There were none for the Freo GF.

Something definitely stinks – don’t West Coast not have Club Support?

AFL giving more and more members tickets away to other parties. It started with 5000 for the medallion club and continues every year. They won’t admit it, of course.

Medallion Club seats aren't in the AFL Members. There are about 2k Silver Hawks.

Been like that for a couple years.
Nah. I know someone last year who doesn't have a Hawthorn/Swans nomination who got a ticket. They were floating around for a day or two as well because I remember sort of toying with the idea.

That's what I thought. I remember every year, in the pamphlet they mail out, there's always an asterisks next to West Coast Eagles. I have a mate who moved over, wanted to get an Eagles AFL Membership, and they told him straight out no (this was the start of 2014). You can get club support for anyone else, Freo, other massive interstate sides like the Crows, tiny ones like the Suns, but I'm just confident you can't get Eagles ones.

This is really bizarre.

You sure about that? Pretty sure they are.

It's interesting with Hawthorn in every year, sometimes you can get them, sometimes not. I don't think the WA clubs have club support which would make you think you could this year.

I was genuinely surprised that there were some making it through last year, given the hype. There are very few WA club supprt members.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but last year wasn't there another small offering of restricted view for AFL silver (non club support) on the Thursday morning?
