Didak is guilty of staging, i won't deny that.
Simple fact of the matter is that Geelong were awarded far more frees than Collingwood and the vast majority of other teams in '09.
Now whilst no doubt many were warranted, and rewarded because they got in first for the ball, it also indicates that a lot more of the frees that they staged for were paid in comparison to other clubs.
I'm tipping players like Chapman, Johnson and Selwood will be pulled up quite a bit in 2010, that is of course if the AFL aren't simply full of hot air, which they usually are.
Yep. Cos Nick diving once makes up for all the times hes had his arms chopped, pushed in the back, completely and utterly smashed by the defender for no free kick. (Y)
Sure crack down on diving, not the umpires paying the frees in the first place.

Just like he usually does. He feels contact on his upper arms, so puts his arms up, which makes the tackler's hands slide down and fall onto his shoulders, hence all the frees for high contact. Nothing to do with diving or throwing himself back or anything like that. Of course, being willing to put your head over the ball helps too.

I've seen every match Selwood has played and I cannot remember one incident in which he has staged for a free kick.
Exactly. Joel Selwood has deserved every freek kick he's got. He's only been around a few years, but he's one of a dying breed of players who will actually put their head over the ball and risk safety to get it out of congestion. Players like him should always be rewarded. Too many players hang around the packs these days waiting for other people to go in and get it.

Selwood is a GUN.. No question, and hard at it too. But there is NO DOUBT he is becoming notorious for feeling contact in the upper body and hurling himself back to the floor. I find it IMPOSSIBLE to believe that one player gets clotheslined 10 times more than any other player in the AFL
