A pick around 30 is unreasonable. He was drafted with pick 49, 5 years ago, and hasn't done much to improve on that.
He is out of contract, and played out of position.
Pick 40 at absolute best but id be expecting something around 50 and pick swaps will get it done.

I think they're rumored to do it more for pick 22 than for Brodie.

I refer to my previous comment.

There are seldom players who have been able to develop properly over the last 18 months with the lack of second tier footy and being in hubs for so long.

To write off a 20yo because he looked off the pace in a team that were the second worse team in the comp this year, and considering the above, is rather laughable.

Kade Simpson had 0 stats for his first 3 AFL games, he went alright.

I'm still struggling to understand why we would go after him...

Just going off what Fox has said:

Fremantle is also open to adding Will Brodie to its midfield mix, but would almost certainly seek to bring him in as a delisted free agent from Gold Coast, rather than via a trade.

Brodie is a on a back-ended deal at the Suns and is keen for a move. Gold Coast would not stand in his way but would prefer to get a later pick for him.

It's a weird thing trading for fringe players. You can be looking at a 150 to 200 game player for peanuts.
