Didn't think there was anyone I could dislike less than Scott Morrison...

Didn't they take a stand last year with the refusal to trade Hately to Adelaide?

And a stand with Cam McCarthy when they refused to trade him to Fremantle?

Seems taking a stand isn't really working for them.

Probably not, but every year they turn over alot of players and it's sure to play havoc with planning and list management.

Whilst it's not working, they can't just let players have it in their minds that they can easily break a contract

Swear he was injured last year as well or is it my imagination.

He was suspended for two games in 2020, otherwise I think he played everything. Missed 1 game in 2019 due to a hamstring injury around the byes.

So he's played 37 / 40 games prior to his knee injury this year, which isn't really a 'body failing' injury.

Sounds to me like they've got some player retention issues they need to sort out. Not sure taking a stand resolves it.

I personally feel the player shoulders most of the responsibility for deciding at such a late stage to switch clubs. Now he can get fit like he should have last year and earn a new contract instead of feeling entitled to it.

Bobby Hill adamant he doesn't want to go back to GWS as per his management - just now on Trade Radio via Cal Twomey. Apparently his family are prepared to call GWS to plead with them. WOW!

If he's so adamant why only Essendon ?

Can't say for sure but it surely comes down to contact + money on offer + I'd also say where the list is at in comparison to the other reported clubs of interest i.e Collingwood, North etc

Same as all the 'homesick' players that only nominate one club.

This is where I think the rule should be trade/no trade

If you ask for a trade whilst under contract then the club can send you to any team that ponies up the best deal.

Too much player power kills sports

It won't happen.
