I think you're right, will be fairly quiet. Anyone that asked for a trade id definitely let go for a reasonable price.

Our stance when it comes to the trade period should be letting all clubs know that we will listen to offers on any player on our list. If they want to chase someone we'll take it to the player and see what we can get done.

We are in no position to force contracted players out against their will like Collingwood did with Treloar and Grundy.
That's not exactly true. The filth have asked questions about Stringer but, the filth have nothing to trade but Richards.

There's more new on another 2 clubs shaking interest.

Makes sense to us but we are not dealing with other clubs. We are just posting a wish list.
Wright and Parish are likely to stay. At this stage there is no real outside interest in them on the length of deal.
Hobbs has some clubs feeding some of the media about there interest. If we rate him we will keep him.
Shiel does not look like he has any interesred parties at this stage.
There has been rumours around Tsatas but noting concrete.
That pretty much leaves Laverde and Stringer.
Laverde has Carlton maybe kicking the tyres. That may get a third round.
So far no one has been mentioned for Stringer but that is also likely to be 3rd round.
Then you have the bid situation on Kako. I would say we are 90% safe so best case scenario the bid comes in at 10 to 20 we lose our second pick and one of the maybe third round picks if Stringer and Laverde went.
So as much as we would like to be active and clean out another 4 or 5 spots we have our hands tied based on our picks and lack of interest for guys us supporters would like to see traded.
The NGA rule change will help us land Kako but it has also stuffed us as far as not having the draft picks we need to make it work and bring in other players as we where not planing that way. The change came too late.
Tiges are talking about tsatas or hobbs.
Get it done a pick & rioli our way would be sweet.

I think Rosas will be a DFA. But there could be some sort of trade for him where we gain a few points and take on the contract… instead of GC just paying him out..

As list lodgement isn’t till after the trade period I believe

and early teens drafted midfielder unable to get into a poor midfield.

Will be lucky to recoup close to what we paid for him (pick 13)

That’s because we haven’t played him in midfield and other clubs are trying to buy low.

He’s a high end talent and you’d want a high end talent back even if you have yo package more things to get there.

Understand the frustrations but this is the result of our own stupidities. We cant be asking for a ransom when we have sabotaged his own development (sabotage for lack of better wording).

Sure we can. He’s under contract.

A year is a long time in footy you never know what opportunities will open up. His value won’t lower this season.

So no need to trade for scraps and use that on a vfl player who’s 3 years away physically

Alright, so the summary is it sounds like we’re either getting pick 1 for Hobbs or if that’s off the table, we’ll settle for Rioli + a pick.
And for good measure we’ll get an asset for being Kind and taking Rosas’ contract off of Gold Coast’s hands.

Rosa might just be walking in Dodoro’s shoes after all.

and any sane person would walk away if we asked for a pick well above what we initially paid.

Point is moot, I doubt we trade him.

What would it take to get another pick inside the top10?

If we could get Kako and a further two first round (top10) talents that would be a dream off season.

It’s not like buying shares where you make a gain or loss. The pick is a sunk cost.

Anyway, we probably shouldn’t trade him unless he demands a trade. Durham, Caldwell, Parish all took a few years to find their feet in the midfield. Let’s give him some time too.

im confident we will have a pick before a Kako bid. What worries me is how far back our second round pick pushes back being absolved by a Kako bid

It’ll most likely be completely eaten and will probably take up an additional pick to service the points required.

Think of Kako as our second round pick.

Hobbs and Tsatas haven't found their ceiling. Both show attributes that may, with time and opportunity, translate at the top level. Would be a bit much to trade them this year when we have so much actual deadwood to trim. Can't go too deep in a single year. If you're AFL standard or potentially AFL-standard, you stay. If you've proven you're an at-best middling VFL type, like Weid, Menzies, Laverde or Kelly, you should be shown the door. Pay out whatever we need to pay out. Don't suffer mediocrity on the list. Spots are tight: if you have one, you're either AFL-quality or potential AFL-quality. Period.
