If the Swans do end up wanting Stringer, what gets it done? 28 and Stringer into 19 (either on the theory that it'll ensure we don't go into deficit to match the bid or, best case, a bid comes after 19 and we end up getting to use it)? Otherwise maybe a future 2nd (given likelihood Sydney finish near the top again, this feels close to market)?

Laverde I'm assuming will be a third rounder to try and shore up points for Kako, if anyone bites.
F2 and 56

Stringer for Konstanty.

Personally I’d want stringer + F2 for Sydney F1

Given expected draft positions that has stringer being worth trading up 6-10 picks in the late first which feels right.

Pretty fair and there’s always the upside of Sydney having a worse year or is having a surprisingly good year and getting more value there

Do the new points system come in this year?

If so 56 is useless to us as points stop at pick 54.
No. Plus even if that were the case, we have two players likely to attract points ahead of Kako, so it would come into value either way

I don't think there is a club in the comp that would want to be seen involving a 1st round draft pick in a trade for Stringer. Even if they are receving a 2nd round pick back.

I don't think the idea is to 'help' other clubs. If they're paying a price for Stringer, it's because they believe that price is worthwhile for them.
OK, then to use your wording, I think they would care. The post you quoted suggests that Stringer and '1st round draft pick' don't belong in the same sentence. Which I agree with.

I don't care what we get back so long as it involves points and future picks, the idea of that is titillating.
Only in supporter land. A club would view it differently. A downgrade from an F1 to an F2 isn't a 'first round draft pick'.
There it is. Can we get some points out of it somehow?

Why are you quoting that? It's quite clear that nobody has said Stinger for a first-round pick only.

Because people are fixating on the first-round pick thing. Saying they don't belong in the same sentence suggests a complete misunderstanding of the deal itself, and that's a supporter thing, not a club thing. Sydney has more than enough credits in their recruitment department to make whatever trades they like and their supporters would have faith they know what they're doing.

If we swapped Pick 18 for Pick 19, it's not a 'first round pick' for Stringer despite it being a swap of 1st round and 2nd round picks.

Using current positions, say it was Stringer + F2 for Sydney F1, it would be Stringer + ~ 28 to ~ 18 which is the equivalent of pick 48 (points wise). Now obviously a 10 pick downgrade higher up the order isn't the exact same thing as a pick in the 40s, but it gives an indication that a pick swap / downgrade isn't the same as simply handing over a first round pick.
