Lol bit salty there fella
Clear as day Houston’s shoulder gets Rankine in the head.
Thug
Can we maybe ban Port and Crows fan from commenting in this thread please? Not sure what the justification of a suspension will be for something that didn't break a rule
"He lined him up"
"Not a good look"
Surely you're taking the pi55 hereThe big Melbourne-based clubs get the best rub of the green from the silks.
Cripps put Ah Chee in hospital and still won the Chas.
Maynard ended Brayshaw's career and still played in a winning Granny.
Sorry Dan although you have a clean record compared to the likes of Cripps and Maynard, it doesn't change the fact that you play for Port Adelaide. No Finals or Granny for you, as you play for a team based in the wrong state.
Let these outcomes sink in.Surely you're taking the pi55 here

Clearly edited. Dan Houston wasn't even there.
There was no head high contact
Dont get the Maynard simpletons fired up again. They refuse to acknowledge the rule changeCripps was on appeal and was a joke he got off.
Maynard on the other hand was a football act. Jumped to smother and braced for contact. They have obviously changed the rule now with the Maynard one.
Par for the course with Aristotle. How can you possibly make 5 points and be wrong on all of them
Let these outcomes sink in.

Rankine got 4 for an off the ball hit where he stopped, turned 180* and lead with his shoulder on an unsuspecting Starcevic. How is it after all this time folks still don’t understand the rules in relation to the Houston bump.
There are only two questions that the tribunal need to ask itself:
1. Did Houston elect to bump?
2. Was Rankine concussed?
Yes to both of those and Houston is gone. It’s just a question of the chook lotto that is how many games. 4 weeks will be the bare minimum.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.Considering Rankine deliberately lined up and concussed a guy off the ball and got 4 weeks with seasons still on the line for both those teams.
Houston lined up and concussed Rankine while contesting the ball in a dead rubber for Rankines team.
How can the penalty be 4 weeks or more given those circumtances, it cannot be any more than 3 weeks at maximum.
AFL could give Houston 3 weeks, punish him for the hit but allow him and save on legal costs fighting the case. Port accept, save on legal costs. If you legally bump a guy and accidentally cause concussion you get 4 weeks for choosing to bump. Or if your name is McAdam you get 4 weeks for 'potential to cause injury'.
If you elect to shirt front a guy (outlawed 20+ years ago) who has no way of protecting himself, and knock him out?
I'd think during the season its 6 weeks plus. 8 wouldn't be a surprise. 10 not impossible.
With a possible grand final berth? Who knows. In truth, he should be done for the season, GF or not.
the bump is still useful for contests and shepherding as long as it's reasonable to do so. Smashing Rankine while he was exposed because he was winning the pill is unreasonable1. Give him 3 weeks
2. Officially ban the bump
And how did he get a concussion? That Cripps one was far worse than Houstons, blows my mind people are as outraged as they are, if rankie walked it off it's a non issue hence why it wasn't even a free, knockout = someone must be suspended, get it right AFL like the NFL does.
Admit he took a huge risk doing it. Could have just held him up. Especially given the way things have gone last 2 years.the bump is still useful for contests and shepherding as long as it's reasonable to do so. Smashing Rankine while he was exposed because he was winning the pill is unreasonable
Why not end his career then.4-5 weeks would be the starting point there wasn’t a need to do that
Stop and brace for contact is somehow worst than running through a player he started to lined up 15m, sure bruh lol. Rankine got 4 weeks and Houston will likely get 6 weeks.Rankine got 4 for an off the ball hit where he stopped, turned 180* and lead with his shoulder on an unsuspecting Starcevic.
This is crap’: Crows gun savaged for ‘picking off defenceless player’ with calls for BIG ban
"This is crap from Izak Rankine, and he’s picked off a defenceless player when he knows he’s completely vulnerable, sets himself and takes him out,” King begun by saying on Sunday night.
Houston laid a poorly executed bump, front on, to the player with the ball.
3 weeks.
