Other than Noosa v Maroochy, WG v PBC, Burl v Cooly what are the other praccy matches this weekend and soory Sandgate v Aspley

Heard Surfers had picked up a couple of quality Broady kids any truth to the rumor. If so did they play against Grange? Think they won by a couple of goals. Good to see Caleb Brown doing well for Morningside, quality player.

please mate get your facts correct, the player you are talking about was spoken to by caloundra but not once was money spoken about, and all the maroochydore players that have come to our club wanted to come to our club, the first one back was a caloundra junior, not sure where you get your info from, but before you start positng stuff about caloundra confirm it first. we are like any club we just want to field a strong team and win games of footy.

actually champ i was referring to one player that didn't go to caloundra. from what i hear, he was offerred money, straight off that bat over the phone and politely turned it down to buck the trend and stay a roo.

here is an idea to get some good players, put the money you are spending on recruiting other teams players into developing an u18s, and you will have senior players for years to come. look at the nambour model, they put alot of emphasis into 18s a few years back and the seniors have gone from strength to strength. apart from the coach this year, they haven't approached any players from any other club, just built a strong 18s culture.

that is what maroochydore is hoping to achieve, a solid team in 2-3 years time based on producing quality 18s that move into senior football and stay at maroochydore.

premierships aren't won in a year, no matter how much money you spend.

Maroochydore spent the money 3 years ago, and it netted nil premierships.

kudos to all the players that have hung around this year, they will all be better footy players and individuals for the experience, especially learning from delany.

Geez mate, ive read your posts, your kidding arent you saying that to the Panthers!! Youve told everyone how much shit some of your players have been causing the last couple of years. Someone has posted the Roos approached Noosa players. And if you expect us to believe that you havent spent top dollars on players the last couple of years and coach, you really are dreaming. 600 a game for White and Mathews is the word on the street. They pay there taxes on that?!!

i would hardly think that local footy is classified work.

how many players declare the income for tax purposes?

Thats the problem, you hardly think! Anything that derives an income and is contractually bound is classified as work. If players are paid in cash, why would they declare it, and lets not be ignorant here most are paid cash.
Premierships arent won in a year, mmm . Think i remember PBC fininshing very near the bottom in 2006 and being premiers and champions the following year and have remained at the very top end since. M'dore obviously didnt spend their money wisely.
Its great M'dore finally getting their act together and fielding u/18's, unbelievable that they havent been able to in last few years, but their is room for recruiting mate, not all those 18's will have the ability or still be involved in footy after they come out of 18's.
I love the line clubs run out at this level that players will be better individuals for the experience, what processes are in place to achieve this, what education programs do clubs run, what community involvement do players take part in?

can you read mate?

the part where i said maroochydore spent the money and it netted nil premierships. that was a previous administration, and it nearly sank the club if what management was saying last year was true.

not sure whether they declared payments or not, i guess that's between them and the tax man.

not sure where i said players were causing shite, and not sure that maroochydore actually contacted any current playing tigers.

So who's interested in a tipping comp this year for fun?

if people are paid in cash, what does having a contract mean? how many players get pay slips, or remmittence statements if they provide an invoice?

if i help a mate paint his house, and he gives me a box of beer, does that count as work?

playing football in the PHC will never be anyone primary source of income, so I can't see the problem in opening the books. AFL clubs have to do it, although the information is kept confidential from the public.

in terms of under 18s, i can't speak for any other clubs but maroochydore is excited about having the opportunity to shape the future of young men, and hopefully keep them in football. they have already installed training and personal development courses that all players are expected to attend.

i agree there is room for recruitment. Ben Matthews has been the best thing that happened to Maroochydore the last 2 years. Ty Morrison has also been great. one is paid, one isn't.

the problem with throwing money around, is that it creates a false value and things get out of control.

That would be good idea.
Also thats see if we can pick this years local premiers and why.
And discussion on all clubs would be good regarding player movements and expectations for the year to come, all this talk of player payments is getting way out of hand.

good mate of mine was speaking to a Maroochy person who was extremely concerned about Senior numbers at this stage.Only fronted today with 19 men whilst Noosa were able to play 2 separate sides over the 4 quarters.Hope all good down the road, the coast rivalry always been a standout of the season.

You didn't believe me beofre NoosaMan when i said this weekend wouldn't tell you too much more?? LOL

Will be a long year for the Roos - probably the step back they needed to take before moving forward again I imagine. When relegation isn't in the mix then is an option more clubs should take IMO before trying to spend their way out of trouble. The coach is very good which is unfortunate irony as he won't have a great playing list BUT as we know (and Noosa knows this well too!) its an opportunity for others and all of a sudden you find certain players step up and become leaders of the club, not unlike when Noosa went through a trough in the early part of the 2000's - came out of it with a new coach, excellent admin and a new spirit who more or less set them on the way to becoming successful for a number of years and not just one or two.

LGM - did you really get paid that much at Aspley?? LOL

gee i thought the Noosa seniors were average today, not sure how strong they were. They were playing a Maroochydore reserves team, with 2 or 3 genuine senior players and could only get up by 6 goals at halftime. They are in desperate need of a ruckman. If that was Brewster playing upfront, I wouldn't be having my house on him being the leading goal kicker. Would want to show more than that.

In saying that, Maroochydore showed alot of ticker today. there were guys who were flat out getting a kick in the 2s last year that were in Maroochydores top 5 today.

good feeling around the club at the moment, wouldn't say we are finals bound but you never know what can happen in footy.

Watched pbc v grange on sat, Grange won by a goal. Not sure I would read to much into it. Grange won around stoppages, defintaly tell they have had an extra match. Pbc very scratchy, but showed plenty at times. Grange have improved significantly will push all the top sides. But ordinary conditions wouldnt take much out other than Grange will be no push over!

Aspley reserve grade

I assumed that would of been the case, I didnt see game Just heard result this morning. Would prob expect a state league clubs reserves to beat phc sides though, considering the extra training and mentoring they receive? Good start for hawks though, had 3 quality playes out as well

i would think they would beat the lower sides in PHC. The sandgate's , Noosa's and PBC's are pretty good sides with many ex state league senior players in their sides. to be honest i thought that was a resonable result for our boys (5 goals).

Aspley were awful. I believe standard of State League reserves has dropped away significantly in past few seasons and standard of Pineapple cup has improved.

What is worse that some of the Aspley team would be in line to play 1s - Nelis, Colch, Hutchison

No Forbes, Walker or Fabian for Hawks !!!

Fair call I guess. Hope the hornets have a better year in all sincerity, north side of bris needs a strong state league club. How are the ex sandgate guys like colch, hutchinson, hughes, bevan, thomson, higgins etc looking, any refular seniors this year. All great kids imo

all those kids are coming along very nicely. bevan and hughes are developing very well.

5 goals in the mud is fair margain. And a aspley didnt kick a goal til after half time. I think sandgate would be fairly happy considering it was their first trial for the year. And beating the hornets in and grade/comp etc is always sweet!
