Bnlgh, loosing numbers hey? I heard Coomera now have a team in Div 3?
Also numbers up at Logan, this might have a bit to do with it?

Any other Div 2 news?
U Div1 blokes on here, how do u think Caboolture will go down a grade in 2010?

Caboolture will be no chance in Div 2 either. They won't make finals. The fact that they've gone down a division means they should be weaker than last year and boy were they weak last year.

Panthers beat cooly on the weekend by 3 points, cooly beat Kedron in the first game by 2 points, hawkins and number 31 (new bloke from Vic) played well against caloundra. I would say cooly are in for a long year with what played in both games on the weekend, as they said they spilt there seniors up over both games. Panthers play caboolture next weekend, then Hervey Bay the week after. not sure these 2 games will gives us much idea as to how we will go this year.

Rolly played on the weekend and the club was happy with him.

As well I think some people need to understand Caloundra has not gone out and brought a team, we offer a lifestyle up here and we only 2 players coming up from brisbane, and they both wanted to play with mates already at the panthers, as well if you don't want to play PHC caloundra is your next best thing.

That frenchy Bloke is a solid all round unit...wnt missing last year though?? :confused:

Alex hills Have Callaumvale At home on Saturday...
SHould be intresting tipping the bombers to come away with the points..

Think wynumm may have lost some big names...

Caloundra, Alex hills, Yeronga will battle it out for the flag....

I certainly agree about Caloundra. They are a quality outfit and with the addition of Cash and the possibility of Frenchie playing the whole year rather than just finals, should be the benchmark. I know Alex have lost Faulkner to Mayne and that will hurt them a bit. He dominated the midfield and the forward line last year. Again, they should be there abouts if no other major losses. Haven't heard anything about Wynnum losing players. Let's just hope they have!!;)

As far a Yeronga go, I think with Fat Rabs coaching all we can expect from them is a first prize in goal celebrations and sledging. Does need an uppercut that bloke..... And a muzzle come to think of it!

Being a bit biased here, but I think the mighty Red Lions should be back up there this year. A new coach on board has certainly seen an improved atmosphere down at the club. Have picked up 3 of Kenmore's top 10 B&F players, Cam Stirling, Steve Webster and Ryan Croft. Chasing Shane Etherton as well as apparently he has also left the bears. Club Stalwards Paris and hollywood have had blistering pre seasons for the first time in years and we should see the results of that on the field! Our ressies should be as strong as always this year. I am tipping two grand final appearances for us this year.

haha, great post although I think your tips about UQ might be a bit off the mark. They'll be strong, but I've heard nothing to suggest they should be any stronger than last year. Glad to see I'm not the only one cringing about playing a rabbit-lead Yeronga. Those guys are arrogant at the best of times. I wonder if the trainings consist of set shots and snap shots from the pocket and post goal celebration and witty one-liners and taunting practice.

You often wonder why Yeronga are arrogant considering they have never won really anything. They tried for so many years to buy flags in the SQAFA and always came up short.
1992 they made the grand final and before the game had 200 t'shirts made up that said "We Final did it PREMIERS 1992" they lost the GFD by 52 points.

i love hearing that story. they had a bon fire after the game at the club didn't they and one aspley got hold of one of those shirts as well

Reading the rot on this site about the Kenmore Bears has made me inclined to get on here and clear up a few things that are being said particularly by the Lion Man and the Hobbit:

1. Yes we have lost a lot of players from last year. I think at last count we have lost 20 of last year's starting 22 in the 2nd semi final. However, it is not all doom and gloom as the Hobbit seems to think it is. We had a very strong ressies side last year and they are ready to step up, we have also recruited some good players in the off-season. His comments are clearly borne out of hearsay and not from actual contact with the club. There is no risk of us going down to division 2 of division 3. We are here to stay in Div 1.

2. Lion Man seems to be spruiking on about how UQ have picked up a bunch of Kenmore blokes this year. How sad that UQ couldn't cut it last year (1st UQ team in how long not to make finals....?) so they've come after a rival club's players to strengthen their own. Shame on you! This is to the detriment of the code in our area and a real shame for our club.

3. Kenmore spirit! What's the old saying, "you can take our players, but you can never take our spirit!" There is one thing that no matter how many players we lose you can never take from us. You'll come at us hard, we'll come at you twice as hard. That is the Kenmore way and I look forward to meeting you during the year!

4. Just to clear something up, the exodus from the club was not caused by the coach being sacked. The last coach was pretty unpopular with the players and most of them wanted him gone.

See you in 2010, stop talking rubbish and take the field!

Surely you are taking the piss??? SURELY.

1. Your reserves team came last ,last year. They were awful both times we played them. I think they would lose Div 2 reserves! I am actually happy you are staying in Div 1. It will give us a guaraneed 2 wins and 2 weeks to practice throughout the season.
2. We didn't go to them at all. THEY CAME TO US> I think that indicates how bad the issues are down there... Going to a rival club after beating them the previous year. Maybe you should give your former team mates a call!
3.Kenmore Spirit - Is that some rip off the Kangaroos?? Must be a whole lot of spirit down there considering 20 players leave an amatuer club. BUBBLING. I just wish we could get some of that at St Lucia. We would be guaranteed a premiership then.

See you next weekend for the practice game mate. Seriously cannot wait.
I would actually like to see how your seniors would go against our reserves. Now that may be of some benefit to both sides. I will say now that the margin will be 15 plus goals.:heart:

Cameron Stirling who was the CHB for the bears last year has gone to UQ. He left the bears because of some issues with the current coach. Looks like he was the treasurer once though. Unless he is still doing his old club's books??? haha.
