We are NOT POACHING. They are coming. And yes it is true.
I have also heard, young Vice Captain Dan Wayne has had numerous talks with our coach along with GC 17 player Tim Plummer who soon could be cut from the GCside.

is that the only sledge you got. no wonder the clubs you follow are looking for women to play for the seniors in the state association

haha you really sound like one of those fat "know alls" that most clubs have atleast one or two of. I'm right aren't I?? Which club is it?

And if your going to reply, try and think of something that atleast makes sense if it aint gunna be humerous...

Tips for this weeks praccies -

Robina to beat Beenliegh
Redcliffe to beat Strathpine
Logan to beat Calamvale - pls note this is only 1 game mixed between seniors/ressies so wont be a true reflection of teams
Ipswich to beat Roosters
Kedron to beat UQ

There seems to a lot of spite and anger on this forum compared to last year. I've been out of the country for a while - what has sparked the sudden interest in Kenmore? what's happened there? Their performance last season seemed to be very good.

Not to much anger. Just mainly from hartlett and this Chandler guy who has a chick as his profile picture telling everyone they are bitches... go figure... Both need to have a good hard look at themselves if you ask me.

As far as Kenmore go, the sudden interest has sparked from them losing apparrently 20 of their senior players from their side of last year, which was extremely competitive. We have had a bunch come over to UQ which has been great for us. I guess that amount of players leaving anywhere is bound to create some intrigue as to why?

Worried about some Gibson bloke playing from coorparoo this weekend. Can anyone confirm he is there and that he won the GF medal for Morningside last year?

Yep he def got the medal in the GF last year. Had read he was possibly playing for Coorparoo. Reckon your FF could be in for a tough day...

well here is a novel idea, instead of airing out your dirty laundry on footy forum. why don't you talk about the footy game ahead in future. instead of talking about shit. that's all you blokes have been talking about the last week.

Yeh Gibson won the Joe Grant last year and will be with Coorparoo I think, so I've been told (I haven't been around the club at all this year).
Shame about Kenmore. Should strenghten Uni a bit though I guess though the sad thing there is that their season goes off the rails when it's Uni holidays then they never get back on track.
Someone mentioned Plummer T has moved on after one year? Is that right? Shouldn't surprise anyone really because I think he has a history of staying at clubs for only one year. Is probably more of a distraction than benefit if he comes and goes after only one season. Bigger problem for Kenmore would be if they lost Stowasser and the Stirling boys. They are a big part of the fabric of the club - are they stiil there?
My mates tell me that Coorparoo for the big improvers this year.

i might be a fat lump and at least i admit it. maybe stop following the crowd and enjoy your own football club and not worry about what anyone else is talking about it

With all this bragging and sledging going on, it's going to be interesting to see who's going to be eating humblepie on Monday :D. Good to see some passionate supporters/players on here, but seriously one wonders  what's it going to be like once the season proper starts? I don't take any notice of practice matches, you never know if sides are playing full strengh, trialling new players, playing players in odd positions or whatever. Round 1 is the start of business.

My mates tell me that Coorparoo for the big improvers this year.

Gibson did win the JG medal, very good footballer and if he has gone to Coorparoo that's a huge pick up. There had been talk over the last couple of years about him getting on an AFL list.

T Plummer was very settled at the Bears last year. Has only left because he was offerred a spot on the GC17 list. Although the official coach was ordinary last year, TP stepped up and was by all reports effictively captain/coach.

The eldest three Stirling boys have all stopped playing for career reasons, while the youngest, Cam, has moved across to Uni. Stowasser retired at the end of last season.

There is word floating around that the Bears might have picked up a couple of Magpies though? If that is the case then things might not all be doom and gloom down at Kenmore

With his dad on the committee at Kenmore I find it hard to see Plummer going anywhere else if he is actually cut from the GC17 list. And who was the one who left this week? How many is that now? Because I've heard that the majority have actually just left the club for a bunch of different reason, hardly any have actually gone to another club. Anyway, if there are any at Uni then I would imagine they should be looking over their shoulder come round 7...

that's not a rumour, i think the magpies send the the players that have been cut from the state league squad to kenmore every year

The rumour I heard was of a disgruntled big name Magpie heading back to the club he played junior football at. One who was formerly on the St Kilda rookie list

C Stirling has gone to uni so I imagine he'll be the one that is looking over his shoulder. In saying that he was probably the best CHB in the competition last year so not too sure what Kenmore will actually have to throw at him.

My mates at Kenmore told me that other than Stirling, the only players to leave for rival clubs were their captain Trent Fuller - Sandgate and the two Plummers to GC 17. Apparently, Tim is very close to getting listed for next year. The rest have just tossed it in for various reasons. So not sure what garbage Lion Man is going on with. :footy:

there wouldnt be too many maggies previously on a rookie list. I think we all know who ur talking about. Why not just say his name. If it is true its a big loss for them, from all reports he was one of their better players in 2009.

Yeah I agree the Lion Man is definitely just stirring up a bit of banter for the forums. Cam Stirling is the only ex Kenmore player in the senior squad at UQ. 2 others have been to a couple of trainings here or there but haven't been down enough to push for selection.

As for Tim Plummer there has been zero talk of him coming to UQ (though we'd happily take him). I think the recruiting of UQ may be getting a bit overstated in these forums. We'll be better than last year but thats just due to a freshen up of new coach and player commitment rather than crazy recruiting.

i was talking to one of the others the other night at training and apparently they're just going to play in the 3rds. got a few mates here already apparently so they all just want to play together in div 2 for a bit of fun. and this guy i was talking to has brought down a former zillmere state league player. should make the uni 3rds a reasonable side this year.

Just a few comments:

1. I haven't heard anything about Ed McDonnell coming down to Kenmore. I'd be surprised given that a lot of his mates left this year. We would happily take him if he came though. :thumbsu: Come home Ed!

2. We have had a few magpies guys come across, but the impact that has on our team should not be overstated. They usually play reserves. Only very few have a solid impact at senior level.

3. No way that Tim Plummer is going to UQ.

4. I agree that Cam Stirling should watch his back when we play UQ. What's the name of that Daniel Day-Lewis movie? Oh that's right, "There Will Be Blood"! Just hope his new mates are there to help him.

5. Hartlett, tipping a loss in a practice match is not a bad thing. You guys will throw the kitchen sink at us, we are only just coming together after a fair bit of turmoil in the off-season. Don't expect to play the same team when we meet in the home and away rounds.

Go Bears!
