anyway back on topic, how are Kedron looking this year?
Their seniors looked ominous on Saturday. Belted our 3rds by 116 apparantly.
As I said earlier, UQ 4ths played extremely well before succumbing by 21 points.

Robina did try and go up a few years ago but didnt play finals any of those years in Div 1, I suspect the thought of that reoccuring is not sweetning the deal for them to go back up.
In reply to Happydaze's post I will congratulate Calamvale on a great win in their practice match against us (Logan City) last weekend. You played a better brand of footy and well and truly deserved to win the game. However I will bring up that we did have a few key players out and whilst I'm by no means predicting premiership success as we are still in the rebuilding phase I would be disappointed if both our Seniors and Reserves didn't at least make the finals this season after a strong recruiting drive in the off season.
Not sure if you are aware but we have recruited some very good players in the offseason with the signing of two gun midfielders from the strong Geelong League in Vic. In addition we have also picked up some talented players from the Beenleigh Buffaloes with their former Captain Matthew Skidmore, midfielder Charlie Wellington and his brother, defender Nathan Wellington and also a couple more from there, signing on the dotted line. The three mentioned above we're regulars in their senior side last season. We have picked up three former Springwood players and also a couple more from interstate that will provide some good depth in our ones. The other good news is that we haven't lost any of our consistent players from last season.
We did show at times last season that we can play competitive football but be prepared for alot more competitive games this season from the Cobras!
I think it will be hard to beat Robina this season as they should really be in Div 1 but luckily for them, they have the luxury of picking up players from down the Goldy which other clubs in Div 2 don't have the pleasure of poaching. I also believe Caloundra could be a smokey and Redcliffe, Kedron and defending premiers Beenleigh will provide a challenge. Ipswich are always tough and one would imagine that they should continue this form, but I do have my doubts about them and the newly merged Griffith-Moorooka Roosters from what I saw last weekend. Whilst I only saw three quarters of their reserves match and did overhear that both teams had several players missing I must state that the Reserves game was pretty terrible. From playing Div 3 in 07 with Logan City, I believe just about every side in that Div that year would have beaten both of those teams.
However one can't honestly make an assumption about the regular season from pre-season games, so I eagerly look forward to what season 2010 will bring!
Caloundra are in division 1. You're a smokey for dumbass of the year.
I believe they were approached by the league at the Presidents Meeting at the end of last season to see if they wanted to go up to Div 1. Not sure why they didn't go. Seems strange after an article they had in a local paper last year mentioning that they had started paying players so they could go back to Div 1
I've seen you play football Hobbit, and in your case netball would have been a more sensible option. What is this a bloody netball forum? I say no holds barred.
Robina left Div 1 to chase a premiership. They haven't won one yet so they won't go up. Perennial premiership chasers and all-round ********s.
I have to give Kenmore credit for staying in Div 1 to continually improve their team and themselves. They didn't play finals the first couple of years but from an outside point of view, they stuck to their guns and kept working hard to become competitive against the top teams. Its a shame something like what has happened now had to occur especially with the progress they made last year.
I also remember Kenmore quite easily beat Robina in the first game after they went up to Div 1 in 2007 with a lot of their players from the previous year's premiership team so its not always about recruiting and chest beating - your current crop of players can improve and raise their performance to match the better teams.
Personally I think the AFLQ needs to step and do something about both Div 1 and Div 2. Why not consider a promotion/relegation system that the English Premier League has for Soccer depending on the perfomances of both the Seniors and Reserves each season. It would make the league alot more fairer then what is happening at the moment. Honestly Robina is a big fish in a little pond in Div 2 and should be pushed to go up!
I think they did introduce a similar system at the end of last year. At the end of this season in Div 2, both premiers and the runners up will be going to up Div 1 next year. Not sure whether any teams will come down from Div 1 due to this. Can someone confirm this?
Did gibson play on the weekend, or is it just rumour still.
The feeling at the panthers is very good at the moment, coach has us enjoying coming to training which is a start, the players that have come back this year played for caloundra in last few years so that will help with our depth.
Other than that not to much news to talk about yet, as the club is looking forward to playing aspley round 1. Should be a good test.
told ya netball was your thinggoalkicker11 are you Frenchy? if you are, can you please not knee me in the back again this year?
