PREVIEW
This week sees Collingwood travel to play the unbeaten Brisbane in a must win game if we want to keep our slim grand final (top 2) chances alive. We played our best footy yet in first half last week against Melbourne, which says we're capable of playing dominant footy. Unfortunately Melbourne came out after the main break with all guns blazing playing high risk high reward footy to take the game away from us in a quick burst and we weren't able to regain the same shape and style of footy.
With Brisbane playing at home from the first time the crowd is likely to be up and about. The 'pies are likely to be without Casey who in all likelihood with take the 2 week suspension offered. Given the outcries it would be silly not to.
In round 1 Brisbane defeated Melbourne by 15 points in a wild and wet game at Casey Fields and backed this up by defeating Fremantle in another road trip by 13. In contrast our last two opponents had mids capable of 15 touches Brisbane seem to be much like us with half a dozen mids capable of collecting low double digit possessions (Bates 13/13, Virgo 11/12, Ashmore 12/9, Lutkins 10/10, Anderson 12/6, Wuetschner 12/10).
We're going to have to be at the top of our game across all 4 quarters to notch our first win and hand Brisbane and 1990 premiership 'pie Craig Starcevich their first loss.
