I'm 99% sure that Daniel was Jeff Ebert's son. Jeff is Russell's younger brother, a couple of years younger than Russell, and played a handful of games, or less, for North Adelaide in the early 70's then went to Queensland. He won the QAFL's B&F Grogan medal in 1974 and I reckon played a few state games for Qld.

My bad, Jeff played 1 game for Port in 1972 then went to Queensland and never played for North.

His sons Daniel and Ricky played for North in the '00's.

I don’t know what the greater public’s fascination is with trying to force other teams merch onto people with ties to a different team.

You can see the glee in their eyes / hear it in their voice when they do it. It’s some kind of sick fetish.
