AFLW is such a slog that impact worthy of being top three doesn't have to be even across the game. If your primary contribution is the defensive work they probably won't be able to see the forest because of the trees.

You don't think the umpires could get it THAT wrong.

I generally see the standard of umpiring as somewhat problematical in the AFLW, but there can be a bit of trust placed in the process of weekly reviews and reflecting who to vote for each game. It just has greater access to detail combined with the inherent immediacy.

Not sure who or what the process was for those who voted in the AA selection. But I think the whole Bowers non-selection is indicative of the sort of trust you could place in it.

I don't know what they're thinking here....this seems staggering they'd get rid of Coops to go this way. I think they might want someone with stronger coaching credentials, but that's just me..............smh

appointed as Ruck Coach for the AFL team.
He has been coaching the state 18’s girls team so could he be like Matthew Clarke and coach the AFLW team as well?
At least he has got experience coaching females.

Fresh approach, new start blah blah. After five years, the right answer will usually be to pursue a change.

yep, getting a beloved club figure to coach a side with no formal football coaching experience couldn't go wrong at all
