Always did what he thought was in the best interests of the club, but ultimately I don't think he worked very well with JL and the club has chosen who they want to continue with.

All the best to him, if I was North I'd be sending him an SOS

It’ll be interesting to see how next year goes. Haven’t lost any players but quite a few changes off field. Murphy and Bell’s roles this year were a bit ambiguous but Boyd will be a big loss.

They really did soft fire him last year. I know he was divisive but I genuinely think he worked his arse off wanting nothing but the best for the club and should be acknowledged.

He’s a white ant and I’m glad he’s gone. It was never about the club it was about him.

Never an easy job. Sure he got some decisions wrong but he clearly wants the best for the club

Yep, should be held in a similar regard to Pavlich when it comes to love for the club. We turfed him and he still came back to us, led us to our first finals campaign and came back post-career to help steady the ship when we were starting to slip in the Lyon era. Obviously made some blues throughout his tenure, but generally got us good results through trade and you'd have to say he's had some influence on the culture we've built to this point.

Disagree strongly. And I'm not a huge fan of him.

The only "white anting" Bell did was to help get rid of a useless coach in Connolly. And it was the correct decision. He wasn't alone either, on his side were a group of senior players that included Pavlich, the Carr brothers, McManus.

He might be a control freak that got himself involved in too much (e.g. being too close to the coaching group on gameday), but he has only ever wanted the best for the club.

The collars are well & truly at half mask today.

I agree with others that he thought his endeavours were always about making the club better. Sometimes he just went about it the wrong way, but we all different & it was a tough gig to please everyone.

Played out exactly as was predicted, shuffled sideways last year (essentially a demotion tho) , 12 more months and then gone!

Nasty speculation. Completely disrespectful and without meaningful evidence.

For all we know he asked to change role last year and then decided that he wanted something different.

Thanks for everything Belly.

Well done Peter, Thanks for all you have done for and given our great club. You have been agreat servant.
Given the club a way out of the doldrums and set us on the right path.
Good luck in your next venture, even if it may be against us.

Yeah righteo mate, I'm sure Belly will love that you stuck up for him.

Nothing in my post was disparaging towards the guy whatsoever (in fact the overall tone was positive).

He left because you didn’t revive Belly & The Silver Fox.

From memory a couple of players re-signed soon after Belly was moved sideways and perhaps the feedback from Player Managers was that Bell was hard to deal with?
