I am curious about the following: why haven't Essendon sacked Rutten yet?

The position has become untenable anyway at this point, whether or not Clarko signs with them. So why has he not been sacked yet?

I'm probably the only one, but I don't see his position as untenable. He should be disgusted with that club of course, but with enough wins next year assuming he survives, he'll be fine. I don't think we can say he has lost the players after 1 heated moment with no context.

Some of those board members should get the arse first, and as for the player ignoring him, I just put that down to a heated moment, pissed with something that happened on field and made a bad mistake not looking at his coach. If it was multiple players I'd be more concerned.

Gday guys and girls. Followed these forums for a long time and just decided to get involved. I have a mate working with *
He was quick to tell me Clarkson is not coming to them (wouldn’t deal any info on Rutten). He seemed pretty confident that he will sit the year out, this could potentially be baiting me or salty as he knows how much I want Clarkson to come to us. I hope this isn’t the case though.

Is deciding it in the next 24 hours and announcing it 2 different things?

Yes. The announcement will likely come at a joint press conference with the selected club.

The one thing I can’t get past, is Hood basically having ‘Clarko will be our coach’ emblazoned across her forehead last night.

She’s either been given iron clad assurances, or she’s got the same condition the Joker has and smiles/laughs at the most inopportune time.

He was asked directly about Essendon's instability and he said clubs that want to change go through periods like this.
Watching all of the interviews, the one in Adelaide on 10 was the most candid. The others were cut and paste answers for the most part.

He ditched his bag for one of the interviews, but in another he was still carrying his UNDERARMOUR bag.

Hawthorne are sponsored by Adidas.

Sponsorship means free stuff galore.

Would he have gone out and bought an Underarmour bag?

Or is it possible he took a bag full of proposal stuff with him to fill his time on the plane trip? From a club sponsored by Under Armour????

Wasn't a whole lot of smiling going on at the presser after we potted Nobles.

If we get spurned again, this is how it will happen

1: he tells north no tomoz

2: rutten gets sacked post game sat/Sunday

3: mon/tues clarko is announced as leading the external review

4: two weeks later he’s announced as the coach

The media won’t call him out on the misalignment of his words vs his decisions because all he did was say no to north

But they, and the * factions will come after him big time when they are still shit in 2 years

You’re not alone.

I think the major difference between the two clubs is 3 seasons ago we accepted that we needed to clean everything out.

Not just the list but some of the structure as well.

Obviously that has not gone as smoothly as possible, however * have just had a split board a president that stood down onto the board while another board member took the presidency while another board member had to change their position on the president to facilitate it.

The board member who had to change has also been in the media adding fuel to this circus.

They present as anything but together at the moment.

Comparatively we knew things were not going the right way so we engaged someone externally to come in and look. The President came to an amicable end with our then coach and we have pursued Clarkson post that.

I even think that we’ve been deliberately quiet this week because he’s needed space because of this thing that he’s dealing with. Even David king has been pretty quiet after Monday. The only North voices we’ve heard was Sonja in a short sweet confident door stop, and Carey, who is not associated with the club really.

On the balance of things right now we are the more put together club. That is 100% attributable to the board and admin.

On Rutten this back and forth sack him or not is bet hedging. They can’t sack him before the game this weekend it would be nuts. It’d be dumping fuel on a bin fire.

Not sure if you're taking the p*as but I'll bite. Do you really think he'd be giving Adidas a free hit after the way things ended at Hawthorn?

Another telling point - how exactly is he putting Rutten in the same category as McVeigh and Adams.
I don't think that fact can be dismissed either. You're talking about someone who is sitting in a job that they won vs two people who are sitting in jobs that were lost by others and are temporarily filling while the successful applicant is identified.

You guys can keep convincing yourself as much as you want about Clarkson's integrity all you like but 1) said nothing about the treatment of Rutten 2) equating Rutten to McVeigh/Adams..

To me it paints a picture that you're not going to want to hang up in your living room.

I think prepare to be disappointed and rely less on ITK sources that have been somewhat debunked over the past few weeks.
Jesus Christ mate, sky falling much

He also likes the Golden State Warriors, who are also under armour
Or, and I know this is a huge leap, he owns a bag made by Under Armour!
