I didn't go there and it's not about me Charlie.

I have seen enough to know that getting these kids away from some of these environments and people is their only hope.
If you went to PLC or Perth Modern I will piss myself after your last post.

It's a band aid solution WR and one that has been tried in various guises since 1788. You can't take everyone away from a bad environment any more than you can play half your list on the HBF. We need to listen to the people who live in these environments, talk with them about what we can do to change the environment. Focus on holistic solutions that involve local people, not just saving some from the symptoms.

He could. But there’s 6 million reasons not to…

Not to mention his commitment to the players and Sonja let alone staff he has brought in personally. I hope no matter what happens Todd Viney finds a way to continue his role because we need good people in the club even if the bloke putting them together can't stay on.

At what point does the club start to have conversations about a new coach? Not sure how we recover from this in the short to medium term. Would expect a mass exodus next couple of years if allegations are verified and/or Clarko pulls the pin.

Amazing that no one’s ever tried that ?

It's probably already been mentioned, but even if Clarkson is found not guilty he could well walk away from football altogether. Not like he has anything to prove IMO
Unfortunately he's signed a contract with North and l believe Clarkson will honour it...

Dishearteningly not that amazing. The intervention in the NT was very much a continuation of those policies, when it could have been an opportunity for change. Turnbull's response to the Uluru statement from the heart again showed an unwillingness to listen. I feel optimistic though, I think the views of younger people are for more open and accepting and this current government seems committed to giving indigenous people a voice to parliament.

Unfortunately this is true. There is a vocal minority (I hope they are a minority) who look at Aboriginal communities and see nothing but child abuse, domestic violence and substance abuse. Despite all evidence to the contrary they think there are no solutions but to intervene, to remove children and break up the communities. These moral crusaders are completely blind to the fact that a century of paternalism has not only failed but exacerbated the problem. Instead of empowering communities their solution is to weaken them. Instead of listening they only want to preach. Dispossession and the past is taboo or irrelevant.
It's so incredibly sad.
See this I like, however this is a gradual process that is in fact happening. We have a long way to go but equally have come a long way. To me this presents an opportunity to grow further, understand more and create further systems to ensure these transitions respect both cultures. It’s about growth not condemning at all costs.

The way Clarkson talked about how North Melbourne helped him as an 18 year old when he came to North and the important supports football clubs have for young men I just cannot see how the allegations could be true. It would make him pretty much a psychopath..

Now - a contingency plan at least pending the outcome of the investigation. The Board can not wait and see - they have to be ready to respond either way when further information becomes available.

Nothing hurts more than picking up the paper and seeing a picture of Carey in a white T shirt on the back front page mate… nothing for a club hurts more than our historical Captain being a ******* dog

I was probably a touch too young at the time to fully appreciate how much of a cultural earthquake that scandal was, I remember thinking at the time we still had Pagan, a chunk of the list that played in a premiership 3 years earlier with new additions like Rocca and Colbert, still had hope that Winnie Abraham would recover from his freak knee injury e.t.c. Struggling to see any light at the end of the tunnel here other than a burglar's torch.

If (I know a million possibilities exist at this stage but I can’t help it) Clarkson doesn’t coach - surely there has to be some sort of compensation from the AFL in terms of the short and medium term impact it will have on the day to day running of the club - to say nothing of sponsorship, membership etc.

Dejoey after being the worst in the world for grabbing his girlfriend on the tit just got a 5 year deal offer from Collingwood.
Seems like just tough it out for 6 months and the short attention spans on twitter move on.

How bout Tex Walker !?

His “career was over” according to many last year after racially abusing SANFL player

2022?… Pulled the highest number of Crow’s Brownlow votes 🤷‍♂️

As I stated yesterday, Sonja and Clarko would have had a very direct conversation about the allegations yesterday (as they will continue to). We have no idea if she sees the need to start those conversations or not. But I believe that if she had felt the need to start that process, Clarko would already be gone.

If he’s found guilty. WTF. Honestly. He’s denied the accusation. So it’s his word against theirs at the moment

For almost a month that was the biggest story in Victoria. Every single day there was something in the paper. Still draws clicks.
